We already know there is a week between the regular season and round 1 of the playoff. The national championship is still going to be late January and the New Years 6 bowls will still host games.

Most years though, 9-11 is going to crush the last teams in and then get crushed in round 2 and 12-20 are all going to play mid games that equate to the Gator Bowl and pointless to the championship picture.
Which all this accomplishes is when 22 magically upsets a team in the top 5, it goes from ruining one teams season to doing nothing

None of these teams were playoff quality, but Texas Tech earned their way in by winning their conference, which I have no problem with. You are never going to get the “12 best teams” or whatever number, just like the NFL doesn’t, but the solution to that isn’t just adding a bunch of teams that don’t belong
