I don’t max out anymore, no need to, I’m getting old and my joints are becoming trash now.

Last time I tried something like a max bench would be whatever is 12 reps at 225.

I just got hardcore back into working out about a month and change ago, but it's around 230.

Unfortunately I'm also around 230.

I'll be happy when my clean and jerk gets back up to two plates, but at 33 I might be getting to old for that shite.

I don’t max or even flat barbell bench anymore because I am worried about tearing something. Back when I was bodybuilding I could do 315 for 12. I never ‘maxed’ then either for same reasons.

Max I've ever done was 325 at 160#

I'm up to 180 now, so I'm hoping I could hit that big tree fiddy number. Pretty confident I can. I'm in comp prep though and don't really wanna risk doing something dumb and getting hurt.

Repped 295 x 6 the other day. Best I got.

I focus on heavy enough weight but
time under tension and squeezing is more
important

Same.

155 for 8, so a projected 194 1RM.

I think I can still hit 300. My primary pressing movement is overhead, but I moved 275 recently fairly easily.

I’m an ex-powerlifter, 198 lbs class. My max at one point was 355. I think I could still get 315 if I tried. Now I just throw 185 on the bar and rep out at 15 for 3 sets during chest day. Gets my pecs burning good.

Personal best was 365 last June

Bench took a major hit dealing with weight lifters shoulder (ac joint issues)

Around 315 and working back up

Lotta used to’s and don’t no mores in here. Everybody has their reason and opinion on lifting .... 325 with a pause at the moment. Goal is 405 by 2023.

Right now, maybe a hair over 405 at 220 #'s. I just turned 50 btw. The caveat to that is I never flat barbell bench anymore although I used to love it. Pretty much stick to db's now but got a wild hair the other day and did a flat bench barbell chest workout and went all the way to 405 (which I failed at getting) but probably could if I was just going for a max rep. This was also raw and could easily get that with a shirt on.

I always thought I was good at benching until I joined up with a herd that used to lift with a benching legend here in hood named Tiny Meeker. He was pretty instrumental in getting my bench perfected but then I had a pretty nasty neck injury from doing BJJ that pretty well almost made my a cripple. It took me years to even remotely get back to where I was and I literally had to give up benching until a few years ago.

I benched 265 twice (with pause on the second rep) last week on my last set. I think with a proper warm up I might be able to get 285 up. 170 lbs.

It's not really impressive but it's more than most of the guys I work with.

1RM on the 3-5-1 calculater is 300. Trying to physically hit a 1RM is unwise for me, as if I hurt something it takes me weeks and weeks to heal

Was 320 year ago, but took some time off from lifting over the past year and you lose the strength fast

I’ve not done a max lift in bench since 2020.

I did 410 @ 186 lbs BW

I think I was stronger last year but never put over 365 on the bar.

I didn’t hardly left between August and January of this year because of a freak injury to my wrist sustained while moving furniture for a buddy of mine.

Currently back up to 315x5

( don’t be too impressed, I’m 5’8 with short arms and on TRT )
