Did 120lb dumbbells incline x9 the other day. It was the last set, starting at 85x12, 100x10 120x9. No clue what my max is.

Switched to only dumbbells due to shoulder issues. Used to do around 3 plates on each side before my rotator cuff decided it was no bueno. Now I happily stick to my dumbell presses using 100s.

I'm doing RPT again. This week my 8 rep working set will be 265. No clue what my "max" is.

230 at 160. Feel like I could get quite a bit more but elbows are jacked.

At least 240lbs 9x. Well, did 125x5 Monday. So at least 250. On a bar, prolly 315 since the bar is easier than a dumbbell. I’ll max on the bar Thursday.

This, and it’s a better strength exercise.

I haven't truly maxed in a while but when I was in college it was 435. My last competition I red lighted 2 attempts and had to get an easy 355 to stay in the meet. Was projected to be 405 in competition.

Currently, I'm likely in the 315-325 range but haven't done traditional bench in awhile as I'm exploring new training types.

For everybody that is having shoulder issues, it's likely your technique. Make sure to squeeze your scapula together and act like your are pinching a penny between them. Get some arch in your back and stop rolling your shoulders forward.

So this thread got me trying heavier weight yesterday. I did 3 sets of 225 yesterday for the first time in over a year. Did 6 reps on each set, probably could have done 8 if I had a spotter. On a good day, back in my prime, I could do 15 reps on the first set. I don't care though, I know I'm older, passed my prime, and just happy to do 3 sets of 6.

I prefer dumbells, but not many gyms carry anything pass 120. And if they do they are each about 3 ft long. It's a huge PIA getting 150s in position to press by yourself

My gym goes to 125 and they are not terribly awkward. I asked about them getting bigger ones. Yeah, dumbbells are better for me.
