It’s 2022 already?!

Hit my 2021 goal of joining the 1000 lb club.

2022 goal is going to be competing in my first bodybuilding show. Stretch goal would be qualifying for a national show but not going crazy for that. Will be competing natural in NPC so as long as I’m not embarrassed to step on stage I’ll be happy.

How are you sub 10% BF and can't do a muscle up?

If you've been training at all you can do a muscle up by the middle of this month.

To be honest I haven’t tried in a couple years. I’m about 25lbs lighter since then so it’s possible. I can do about 8 pull ups with 35# weight.

Getting back to 170 at around 10-12% BF. Currently 160 and haven’t been great about eating enough for weight gain.

Between getting engaged + Covid laziness settling in, i ballooned up to 210-215, almost a 38 pants size.

Goal is to drop down to 185 and have my current 36 pants fit a little better.

Step 1: read the Health and fitness board.

Step 2: joining a gym tomorrow.

I’ve never been a big guy at any point in my life but I am feeling sluggish as hell right now and it’s getting me down.

Was really big into working out 2010-2015 and then stopped doing that type of gym and got into bouldering up until I lost my job due to covid and couldn't afford it anymore.

I miss the days of looking good and feeling good about myself.

Hope to be doing pull ups just using my middle and pointer fingers again by June.

ETA: 6’1 so not at beached whale status but certainly feel like a bloated walrus

Work up to 100k meters a month rowing. I struggle with consistently setting aside time to do it, and losing focus once I start.

Lose about 15 lbs while maintaining muscle mass, which accomplishing the first goal should mostly take care of.

Doing pretty well with my strength training, so keep that up. Add more grip work.

Cut back on drinking.

Eat more, move less. I figure everything I do now will determine what kind of old man I'll be.

I would like to do both of those. I didn’t race or time trial at either of those distances in 2021.

I would add the following:

2 mile 11 min (2021 11:40)
5k sub-18 (2021 18:25)

I’m mostly going to focus on running this year. Strength wise I would like to at least maintain and maybe gain in the exercises I do with are mostly body weight and kettlebells. If I could get over 15 pull-ups this year that would be nice (currently around 11-12).

1. 2022 miles on the bike
2. Marathon training without injuries. Not sure if I'll actually complete one in the calendar year, but I want to start the training.

A secondary goal that will come along with those, I'd like to notch a PR in the 5k and 10k if I can.

I've went progressively downhill the last 3 years. I'm currently around 255lbs at 5'11. I've been overweight/obese the last 7 years (was 235 up until 3 years ago and it piled on more).

Had a roommate commit suicide while I was in bed back in 2015. Since that time things got progressively worse, and I began to hit the herb on a daily basis. That led to binge eating and eventually type 2 diabetes.

All that said, my big goal is to get my A1C down and in control to not need medications any longer. I think I can do it if I get my weight back down around 220 or a bit lower (going to be hard to do, but it's doable).

2. Increase running volume to 10-15 miles/week
3. Commit to 2-3 strength programs over the year (I have frickarounditis with the worst of them)

Welp starting off the year with COVID/flu so guess I'll hone in on eating healthier for the first couple days

I’m 41 and I’ve got myself in pretty damn good shape over the last three years. I want abs by the summer.

I’ve stayed active for most of it but have really took a nosedive this holiday season. I’ve really gotten out of my routine and need to pick it up. I’m thin, so weight isn’t an issue but staying active and energetic is an easy habit to lose.

Similar here. I fell off when the pandemic started, and just this fall got back into eating healthy. Dropped 30 lbs and the goal is to maintain my current weight and keep working out until I see some definition. We bought a Peloton for Christmas, and I got in 5 beginner type rides before New Years. We went out of town for a few days and I got on it the first time again last night after taking those few days off. I want to get in 4-5 rides a week of different types, and incorporate some strength/resistance training a few days a week. Between eating lean and adding cardio, I want some abs to show for all the work. Wife has done well too, but still has about 10-15 lbs to get to her goal. Between working and 3 kids it was hard for us to get to a gym, but having everything we need set up out here in my home office there's no more excuses. My son even likes getting on the bike, so I'm going to get some toe cages so he can ride some.

Best of luck to you, fellow Rebal.

This is a good board for general fitness advice, particularly for running, cycling, and weightlifting. The running and cycling threads are great, and any thread involving lsu777 is going to be full of weightlifting knowledge. The baws here can help you get in shape.

I want to really prioritize strength - something that I have never really done - while also hitting some new running PRs.

Current metrics:
5'8" 160lb
Bench: 220lb, Squat: 250lb, DL: 340lb
Most recent 5k (9/2021): 0:23:02 (7:24/mi)
Most recent Half Marathon (8/2020): 1:46:14 (8:06/mi)

Goals:
Bench: 250lb, Squat: 305lb, DL: 400lb
5k: 0:21:45 (7:00/mi)
Half marathon: 1:42:41 (7:50/mi)
