She has become good friends with the girls in the two grades above her. They will have a great shot to win state in GA her freshman year of high school. She will have a shot to be the 4th or 5th place girl on that team as a freshman if she continues to improve and she wants to be a part of that.

I do want to be able to support her in her goals.

Sounds like you have your answer, Savage. Let her enjoy that ride with her friends. High school sports end, but the memories of something like that will be there forever. She can run for the rest of her life but she only gets that chance once.
I just finished and recovered from my first 50mi race and want to get back into strength training consistently. My main problem that I face is the time commitment to run enough for ultrarunning, while continuing to strength train, while also being a husband and father. Any advice on quick strength sessions that you've found effective would be greatly appreciated.

I would say lack of talent had there been obvious attempts to change things up that did not work.

That's not really what we saw for the majority of the year.
I have two kids - 5 & 3.

I run in the morning with the dog before everyone is up. Get home and make the kids lunches for the day, get breakfast going, teeth brushed, etc.

I take the kids into the basement with me in the evenings while I lift. I have foam weights down there that they sometimes play with. My daughter has a gymnastics bar that they sometimes play with. Sometimes they just watch a show on my TV while I lift.

I have found that including them as much as possible allows me a lot more flexibility.

I did it for years. Found myself too reliant (sounds weird but probably addicted to it to be honest) on the app and have recently stopped tracking and tried just being more mindful.

I think tracking is a good place to start to help you understand the impact of what you eat on your daily caloric intake, but I would caution you on letting it become a crutch and/or getting too in the weeds/anal about hitting the number every single day. Don't forget to enjoy yourself every once in a while - just don't eat and drink like an a-hole every weekend.
I posted a similar thought earlier and I tend to agree with you.

My bigger concern is the LB play, for which he is also the position coach, is abysmal. For a guy who coached LB in the league I would expect better play from them. That being said, it's hard to play LB when your d-line can't create some havoc for you.

All in all, I wouldn't be surprised to see him remain and the rest of the defensive staff get an overhaul (DB, DL coaches specifically) and he gets one more year to make it right.

House isn't getting the boot. About 80% sure if that. LSU needs to hire a DL Coach that can recruit very well.

I honestly kind of agree with you. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new DL coach and new DB coach, but I don't know that they will cut House loose. Looking at last year, we know that he knows how to adjust when things don't work - the biggest problem is the players he has to work with right now. A totally depleted secondary (some injuries, GB situation, some portal misses) doesn't help. I wouldn't be surprised if they give him another year to make it right.

On the other side, as LB coach I think he has done a terrible job. The angles that they take make absolutely no sense. The lack of pursuit to the ball is terrible.

I'm not sure what will happen but the defensive staff of this year certainly cannot maintain in tact next year.
What I truly don’t understand is the seemingly lack of adjustments.

I don’t expect this team to shut teams out. I don’t even expect 10+pt wins with this defense. What I do expect is when a quarterback runs for 3 TDs in one half to consider allocating a player to spy that QB. I expect the players on defense to, in week what… 10?.. to not take the worst angles possible (looking at you, Greg Penn). The little things that coaching should be addressing are totally non-existent at times, which wasn’t necessarily the case last year. At least not to this level.

If LSU had 7 wins they would be ahead. If LSU does what it needs to do, it will all shake out.
Is that Tory Carter back there hitting the smelling salts like it's a Christmas candle? That's the energy this team needs right now.

I get what you mean, but most of them also have enough experience to understand fundamental responsibilities

We have low experience at the LB and CB positions.
I’m not sure I buy this. Yeah, there are a couple of young guys getting a lot of run but there is also a lot of experience in those groups.

Cant keep balanced pocket pressure.
This is the bigger issue. The pocket isn’t collapsing on the QB, it’s morphing around him. Too much space to move up.

Defense doesn't need major overhaul...they just tend to lose focus.

No, just need to remove Major. Ryan Gosling levels of liability out there.
Sometimes I wonder if he is playing to the Transfer Portal a little too much. The guys who seem to be underperforming, with young guys nipping at their heels, are transfers. It would be a bad look to attract transfers, just to have them sit behind freshmen/soph players.

Not saying it's the right philosophy, but I wonder if it has something to do with it.
No pass rush? KJ was under fire - it just didn't phase him.
Any runners / endurance athletes found a good strength training template or plan that is tailored for running strength? Recently developed some proximal hamstring tendinopathy that I believe is directly related to neglecting strength training for too long. I have been back in the gym, and have made a lot of improvement, but am now looking for a plan that I can follow.
quote:

he would have played Coleman better than Zy or Duce
The one play that Harris could have proven this against Grambling, he didn't.

quote:

Maason would have helped pressure Travis enough to also affect a few of those third and longs
The 30 or so plays that Smith played against Grambling, he did not get pressure.

quote:

Kelly will admit they used Perkins wrong. Had he been appropriately used, it would have disrupted Travis game.
The times that Perkins rushed, he didn't disrupt anything.

Finally, I know for a fact that Diggs would have gotten a TD at the goal line on the opening drive.
Maybe.

I hope we get a rematch in the Playoff or NY6 bowl.
Yes
quote:

CBK made the bone-headed decision to move him out of position in the first place.
It's easy to say this after seeing the FSU game, but calling it a "bone-headed decision" is ridiculous. In theory, with Smith and Wingo in the middle of the d-line, Perkins could have been free to flow to the ball wherever it went and Speights was there to support. That isn't how it panned out, so instead of continuing to force a square peg into a round hole the coaching staff is changing directions. At least they recognize it and are adjusting.
quote:

He didn't sack the QB every snap he played. In other words, he didn't play anywhere close to good enough for the rant.
This is pretty facetious. He looked objectively not great in a game against a team that, even in his first game back, he should have easily handled. Hopefully it’s just knocking the cobwebs loose and getting comfortable going full speed again.
