Bayou Teche- live cajun bands, good food, great setting, average beer

A buddy and I did 35 breweries in 10 days on a trip from Denver to Portland to Seattle to San Francisco back in 2004. I'm not sure my notes from that would be helpful 17 years later, but we had fun. I bet there are 100x as many around now. There are a dozen just in my area. I need to get back to it, it's just harder as you get older.

gnarly barley has the best beer and friendliest people and they’ve come a long way in making the taproom a place to hang.

I second the Anchor Steam brewery. I did the tour & it is great. Every Anchor Steam beer sold in the world is brewed from that one building. There is nothing like an Anchor Steam draft beer.

Tin Roof, Urban South, Abita, rally cap, Brew Carre, and Bayou Teche all have great atmosphere and events, but the beers are somewhat lacking.
Gilla has fantastic beer, and the Mexican restaurant next door has fantastic food, but the place has no atmosphere to speak of.
Courtyard, NOLA, and Urban South in New Orleans all have decent atmosphere and beer.
I know Parish and Gnarly Barley make great beer, but I haven’t visited their breweries.

Russian River Brewing, Santa Rosa CA (Charles Schulz museum is an added bonus), Full Sail in Hood River OR for the views, and people will say sell out or whatever, but Wicked Weed in Asheville especially in December when it is not as crowded. 2nd Street Brewing Rufina tap room location here in Santa Fe has really grown on me, Sloppy Sloth IPA Citra and Strata versions are great and they do a lot of beer styles well, plenty of room, and some really good food.

Idk even know why that's an insult. But many places in br need to learn how to be a sports bars have optimum angles, good big screen dimensions. Have tvs placed where everyone can see.

I've been to their Rail Yard location years ago. I'll be up there next week and will check out Rufina.
