Insider buying - tirebiter
No shock that insiders have been buying huge amounts of company stock, from WSJ this AM:
Corporate insiders are buying stock in their own companies at a pace not seen in years, a sign they are betting on a rebound after a coronavirus-induced rout. More than 2,800 executives and director...

re: Vanguard fees vs all others - tirebiter
If you are this novice of an investor I would find a one time fee only adviser and pay him to tell you how to invest it.
That's what the .30 he referenced is at Vanguard for the personal advisory service. He can fire them after and not pay the .30 annually. Beats the shite out of ...

re: A little publicized feature of the stimulus bill being considered affects dividends - tirebiter
Was this a Democrat mandate? People only invest to hope for price appreciation? Well managed companies didn't ask for a pandemic, sounds like some horse shite to me. If someone could make anything on bond interest that's where I would be. A lot of investors will avoid the non-dividend payers. ...

re: I live this board, but... - tirebiter
I have a moral issue with Boeing, you'll never hear me talk that company up no matter how attractive its valuation looks. At least you haven't fallen for the pumping on here of some really shitty companies the past few weeks. I did back up the truck on UTG in my Roth. YMMV. ...

re: Delta suspends dividend, borrows 2.6 billion dollars - tirebiter
Well, not quite. They have 2.9B in cash and 8.5B in current assets according to their most recent 10-K (see consolidated balance sheet on page 53). LINK I'm not saying it's a good buy or anything, but I checked the math, and none of the calculations you've provided are correct. [/quote...

re: Any thoughts on what this going to do to the housing market? - tirebiter
Have to believe it is negative, foot traffic would have to be way down. Depends on if your area has very tight housing stock or more sellers than buyers. Realtor I'm going with also has done a lot of local sales with foreign buyers, you never know. ...

re: I'd appreciate an opinion from some of you money gurus - tirebiter
Assuming you already have cash what are your intentions with the cash from the sale of your LA home? Assuming LA house is likely higher value than the NV house you would still have the option of paying off the new NV mortgage if desired. I would get the 30-yr, wait a year or 2 and see how you feel...

re: Well im done buying for now - tirebiter
These are crazy times. Even Cracker Barrel, which was $168.80 on 2/21 is at $56.37 now. Who would have thought that in February given the steady business that company has. Haven't bought any due to restaurant crushing current policy. I have plenty of fixed income to bring to bear if things get s...

re: Lost in the commotion today - Oil is down ~25% - tirebiter
It's crazy, plus people driving much less due to restrictions/work from home. Wars have been started over much less, not that I am a war monger. Even the refiners and pipelines have been crushed. Guess that is the real end game of the discontented Saudis/Russians. ...
As a younger, relatively in shape guy that has asthma
I had asthma when I was a kid and severe allergies and got injections. Asthma disappeared. Then I got into my 40's, and started getting symptoms of both again, started allergy injections again. Asthma makes it much more diff...

re: Can someone tell me who is selling right now in this market? - tirebiter
Would imagine forced selling out of packaged leveraged products has been happening. Wrote about UBS shutting down a 2x mortgage REIT ETN in another thread, sure events like this are bringing big negative action in that sector by force selling. Unit holders of MORL getting less than 40 cents on the...

re: CIM ex div date 3/30 - tirebiter
I don't think its related to the Fed cut. I think its saying people are going to default on their mortgages when they are out of work for two months or dead.
I believe a good bit of this is related to 2X mortgage REIT ETNs going into forced delisting/closing. Look at MORL for on...
