There are certain items you see on a menu or you see an interesting recipe and in your mind, it makes sense and sounds delicious. But then in reality, it’s not as good as advertised.

What comes to mind? I’ll start.

Stuffed burgers: in my brain, it is very logical and sounds great. A burger with cheese and other things stuffed inside? Sign me up. But in reality, I find that I’d rather the cheese, etc. be put on top like normal to better control the meat temperature.

Stuffed bell peppers have never lived up to the hype. You can put anything in there, but at the end of the day, you're eating a shite ton of bell pepper.

Ice cream from Sonic.

I'll never understand it. I think "it'll be good this time", and every time it is downright bad ice cream.

It doesn’t taste like anything to me, either.

Shaved coconut (picturing coconut cake for example)

I love the flavor of coconut things and fancy a pina colada as an alcohol dessert when im feeling like a little bitch, but damnit that shaved coconut crap pisses me off.

Sounds like you or whomever cooked these stuffed peppers had no idea what they are doing.

Suffed bell peppers done right (and quite easily I may add) are the bomb!

Fried or grilled liver.

Always try it but can not acquire a taste for it.

All the varieties of beer such as pumpkin, blueberry, apple, etc. comes to mind here.

All sound great but when it comes down to it, still has that carbonated watered down cereal taste to me.

The only beer I can tolerate is a very dark stout.

This is about food "That sounds great but isn't".

Never have I ever thought of liver sounding like something great to eat, but maybe that's just me.

Kind of like escargot to me. Some cultures think it's the bomb and a must have for fine dining. I, on the other hand, think it's pretty damn disgusting to be eating snails no matter how much butter sauce they are cooked in.
