Daronte is the DC...he's the one calling the plays. Part of the early season struggles and not adjusting have to go on him no matter how much O was involved. He could be a good DC somewhere else, but let Kelly bring in who he wants. Something tells me it will be an upgraded.

The November numbers (aka after Ole Miss Spanked us and Kiffin told O his defense sucks) are super impressive

Which O took credit for. Either it is O fixed it, which means Jones sucks a lot, or Jones finally learned he could blitz thanks to Kiffin, which is still a major red flag.

Or it could just be O's insistance on running things his way eventhough he's not a play-caller. Jones finally got to run the defense his way and it could have been run that way all along but it was instead stymied by the HC. Once O was notified he was fired, getting his way didn't matter as much anymore. After he got called out by Kiffin, yes, changes were made going into a bye week, but that doesn't mean changes weren't suggested prior to Kiffin ever saying anything. The problem is you can't just go against what your boss wants without consequences.

Baw doesn't have to get curbed. His only experience as a DC was one year, at Franklin high school. Maybe he can go learn how, just somewhere else. Or possibly BK may want him as a position coach. He has some experience at that.

2. Bama’s offense is anemic by their standards. Auburn held them down as much as lsu. They are not a great offensive team.
He improved, but let’s be real. He’s still not a very good DC for an LSU level job.
