So USC lucked up on Matt Leinart I guess.. Ohio state lucked up with Zeke, Spurrier lucked up with Danny.

Saban has lucked up with all that defensive talent every year too.

Jimbo Fisher isn't the answer for LSU he lucked up on Winston and even some of those games with him since them please tell me what he's done in a bad football conference to warrant this job.

My GOD where to start with this freaking ignorant post.

So you going to discount him winning NC because HE recruited and coached Winston but he had nothing to do with the success that year?

ACC is NOT a bad football conference. As a matter of fact top to bottom it has been as almost as good as the SEC in recent years and the second best conference in the country.

Tell me something Coach O has on his resume better than Jimbo?

No kidding! I hope it's not this many. Sadly I know one like that personally. I avoid him near game day because of how negative the bastard is.

Grimes has been a good recruiter and good coach

he hasnt been bad, and he is def a good recruiter.. I think we went down on talent and he is just not getting his guys in... its not easy putting in a zone blocking scheme.

That's Jimbo's MAIN stipulation. He's just going to bat for "his guys",

Anyone else worried about this part?

So we have to pay him extra to NOT FIRE ONE OF THE BEST YOUNG DC's IN THE COUNTRY?!?

Shouldn't his desire to replace Aranda with one of "his guys" be a disqualifier? What other good decisions will cost us extra?

It's not strange for a HC to want his own people. Nor is it strange for someone to want to get more money in negotiations...

He is paid to field the best coaching staff possible. Unless I am mistaken, none of "his guys" can adequately replace Aranda. Dude should just make Aranda one of "his guys" or find another job.

I think it's more about control, and nothing to do with Aranda. It sets a bad precedent, and Jimbo is showing he doesnt like it.

FYI just saw this on FSU message board

Here is what I do know that I think I'm ok posting without breaking my guys trust.

1. Jimbo's ex wife is in Tally, with the kids. They love it here. No plans to move until kids are in college.

2. Son's medical care is set up here with specialists. Not an easy thing to uproot.

3. Jimbo's lady is a single mom who lives in tally, and who's father is a Big FSU guy, a booster, and is tight with Thrasher.

4. Jimbo, for all intents and purposes, gets whatever he wants from Fsu.
Jimbo, for all intents and purposes, gets whatever he wants from Fsu.

There's 1-2 other factors that I don't feel ok posting, but add all that up.

Is it possible that LSU makes this incredible offer and Jimbo decides to leave? Sure, this is college football, anything is possible. But Add all that stuff I posted above up… It let's you know that he's pretty dug in on a personal life level.

Then where did the rumors that his kid goes to Minneapolis to see a specialist come from?
