Is O willing to go back to d-line coach and if so would Jimbo retain him?

That will remain an open question until the end of the season.

Last season we didn't have our well liked long time coach fired yet. This year we do.

I just wanted to point out what LSU is losing next year (per your own board):

Sr's:

Rickey Jefferson - safety
TraDavious White - cornerback
Corey Thompson - Safety
Dwayne Thomas - DB
Brandon Surtain - DB
Duke Riley - LB
Kendall Beckwith - LB
The Kicker
Travin Dural - WR
Tashawn Bower - DE
Jordan Harper - DE
Desean Smith - TE
Colin Jeter - TE
Marcus Roberts - DL
Josh Boute - OL
Ethan Pocic - OL
Christian lacouture - DL
Lewis Neal - DL

Jr's that will enter draft:

Leonard Fournette - RB
Jamal Adams - Safety

Possibly could enter:

Malacai Dupre - WR
Davon Godchaux - DL

I know is incredibly difficult for a Bama fan to fathom, but LSU recruits well and has depth as well.

Didn't things like these leaks derail Jimbo to LSU last year? It would seem the powers that be wouldn't be telling anyone their plans.

I thought F King and Jindal fricked that up after bankrupting the state and making LSU football suffer for it. No "poor les miles" standing in our way now.

I have admitted time and time again that I respect the LSU program and it's players. Their fans? That's a different story.

However, my point was that you are losing a ton and with a new staff coming in a national championship expectation may be aiming a little high.

You came in and cherry picked 1 post to make whatever point you're trying to make.

No realistic lsu fan is expecting a national championship next year

Thank you for correcting the fact some of us knew: Jimbo wanted the power to retain staff, not having them forced upon him

He's just going to bat for "his guys"

What's the point of having more money for assistant coaches if we're going to use the money to give raises to his shitty assistant coaches?

O will be hurt and will likely seek HC jobs. If he's not offered one he wants, I think he'd swallow his pride and come back with a title promotion and a significant raise.

However, I can't imagine Jimbo would want any part of an interim coach who went 7-1/6-2 remaining on staff. You see how divided we are as a fan base already, add to that the returning players who love Coach O, and I just don't think it's a healthy situation for Jimbo. He's gonna have to deal with enough in the transition, why add that unnecessary distraction?

I hope I'm wrong, though--I hope they could find a way to work together. But I just don't see it.

Even when winning's illogical
Losing's still far from optional

I wouldn't have a problem with O as HC, but if you can hire Jimbo, you have to.

Which side of the fence am I on?

Also, i think Thompson and Lacatoure will both be back next year. Medical redshirts.

I expect a NC every year. That's what the game is about. It's the ultimate prize. I don't hope for the Sugar Bowl, this isn't Ole Miss where the Sugar Bowl is the pinnacle.

If it does end up being Jimbo, I have a feeling LSU and Orgeron aren't going to have an amicable separation...

What we say about Bama every year . . . that staff thing is the difference maker.
