Report: NFL Rookie, Ex-Ole Miss TE Has Agreement In Place To Join LSU

The Cleveland Browns are waiving tight end Dae’Quan Wright, who could now be on his way to LSU for the 2026 season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Wright has an agreement in place to play for the Tigers if he clears NFL waivers. The former Ole Miss tight end entered the NCAA transfer portal last week after a court ruling opened the door for him to receive a fifth year of college eligibility.
Wright played the last two seasons at Ole Miss under Lane Kiffin before going undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles before being claimed by Cleveland earlier this month. Wright caught 39 passes for 635 yards and five touchdowns last season at Ole Miss.
If Wright clears waivers and ultimately suits up for LSU, he is believed to be the first player to spend time with an NFL team and then return to play college football.
