A copy of the contract for the football game with Southeastern Louisiana University was obtained from Louisiana State University via a public records request.

LSU will host the Southeastern Louisiana Lions at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La., on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025. The Tigers will pay the Lions a $750,000 guarantee for the game, according to the copy of the contract.

In their first meeting back in 1949, LSU defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 48-7. The Tigers then won the second meeting in 2018, 31-0, and currently lead the overall series 2-0.

They should play one Louisiana school every year. 750K goes a LONG way at SLU , or NLU OR USL.

How about we put them a week before we play Clemson?

To get a week zero game on the schedule, pretty sure a team needs to be playing against a team that has Hawaii on their schedule, Hawaii or a team on the schedule that plays in something like Dublin, Ireland.

We need to schedule a cupcake for week 0. This would have been a perfect opportunity.

In order to schedule a week 0 game, you have to play at Hawaii or a game in a foreign country.

False. SMU is playing all of their games in the contiguous 48 and played a week 0 game at Nevada

The actual requirement is you have to play at Hawaii or play a team that has to go to Hawaii later in the year. That’s how SMU played Week 0 - Nevada plays in Hawaii later and they can’t play a game on their own

That’s how FSU got their Week 0 game in 2022 before Kelly’s debut. They hosted Duquesne who played at Hawaii

Switch SELU and Clemson and I’m happy, otherwise we continue to 0-1 start streak. What’s the definition of insanity?

There's no reason to play a top 8 program when you play in the SEC. It prob costs us a playoff spot this year. To the sensitive guys that say "Soft", it's called being smart. It's high risk, where a win doesn't help you nearly as much as a loss hurts you. These are the same kind of guys that call men who invest in the S&P 500 pussies while they lose all their money on penny stocks and day trading. At the end of the day, you can call them soft all you want, but they'll be retiring at 55 while you slave until 75.

Omg complaints cause we don’t do a cake cup like ole miss or Ohio state for non conference every year. It’s good and keeps money in LA.

Don't like it. Don’t like it at all. However, even though they’re going to get their asses handed to them, you have to at least feel good for the Southeastern kids who will get a chance to play in Tiger Stadium. For most of them, it was probably their dream to play for LSU and Tiger Stadium but they didn’t have nearly enough talent to even play at a place like Tulane.

LSU isn’t a charity. They can buy tickets after they drop out of SLU like everyone else.

LSU plays an in state school every year. It is a boost to that program and most of those kids grew up wanting to play at LSU
