re: How are SALT Deductions Legal?
Posted by MMauler on 6/2/26 at 5:38 pm to TheMagicMan
First, don’t confuse deductions with credits. Second, Congress can make anything they want deductible. Fifty years ago, you could deduct tons of personal expenses. Back then, all interest paid (including interest paid on credit cards) were deductible. In 1986, Congress took back all of those deductions and instead lowered the top marginal tax rate to 28%. It didn’t take the Democrats long to raise that tax rate to 39% (under Clinton) but still making all of those personal expenses nondeductible. It’s now at 37%. The deal was supposed to be that you would lose all the personal expenses, but have a 28% maximum tax rate. That was just a complete f*cking lie.

You're confusing property taxes with income/capital gains taxes.

Translation: This little half-a-f@ggot was brainwashed to be a brain dead, no-good piece of pure f*cking Democrat filth since before he even entered kindergarten.
Seriously, what kind of complete scumbag and f*cking moron could support this little twinkie.

Not exactly a meme – but definitely shows you the difference between a 70s movie and a movie made today. This scene could never be made today.
It’s funny to show how things have changed. Between the scene and Blazing Saddles, the left would just go completely out of their f*cking minds if these movies were made today.

If Biden (or anybody else for that matter) had settled the same way
Democratic administrations have been doing this for years. They settle suits with their preferred NGO’s, nonprofits, and other DNC related groups.
You know, like when the Biden administration gave Peter Strzok and Lisa Page $2 million to settle their bogus wrongful termination suits after they had been rightly terminated for their completely corrupt behavior as well as their treason. Anyone with even half a f*cking functioning brain knew that that was strictly a payoff to keep them in line and quiet.

You are going to get one of their just-out-of-law-school minions to work your case.
Actually, the people who run your case are former insurance adjusters hired by these firms. They’re the ones who mostly deal with the clients. The lawyers essentially do whatever court hearings are needed and conduct the depositions, if needed.

They're going to vote democrat once the liberals get serious about raiding our 401K's and IRA's to buy votes.
I imagine this is when the USA begins to see political violence from those who have been productive and planning for retirement their entire lives.
Ever since these insane ideas have been floated, my first thought is that if they ever do this, you will literally see politicians being gunned down in the streets. I just don’t think people will take too kindly to the scumbags committing out and out blatant theft. I really believe it would be a bloodbath.

The median for folks aged 65 to 74 is $200,000. Those are your boomers.
This might be a little misleading. Many Boomers had "real" retirement plans, i.e., defined benefit plans. These plans don't have a set amount of money that can be counted, but rather a monthly income amount until death.
Companies started getting rid of these in the late 70s and early 80s but many Boomers were grandfathered into these old plans until they retired.
Probably the best Frontline video I’ve ever seen is The Retirement Gamble from a few years back. It talks about the switch from traditional retirement plans to 401(k)’s in the 70s and how it has really hurt the employees but saved employers billions.

Paxton won’t have to "paint them" at all. His words speak for themselves – showing what a complete f*cking insane nutjob that he is.
