Milam and Curiel appreciation thread

Posted by ODoyleRulez on 5/20/26 at 10:51 pm
DC is an absolute stud player. Glad he chose to take on the pressure of wearing purple and gold. Hope he gets a great draft and contract, otherwise come on back lol.

Milam came in clutch for us for countless times at the plate and he was lights out in the field for us. Just a silent assassin.

Thanks for the memories boys and good luck going forward through your careers.

Depends on what’s for dinner

Yep, gave up for sure.
Agreed…but are those numbers correct? Wild ride we’ve been on if so.
Over under in wild pitches/walks/hit batters in game one?

9.5
Don’t think that hits this year’s abomination of a year of sports at LSU. Unranked football with not shot at anything, baseball walking their way to not being in the tournament at all, men’s basketball worst in league winning what 2 or 3 games total? We should bring back wrestling or be the only SEC team with a hockey team..conference champs every year (kidding of course )
Maneri mail it in after a natty, admitted to it and eventually couldn’t right the ship. Johnson won 2 and follows the second with the biggest checks to players we have ever seen, most expensive roster and it cannot win. Worst pitching staff I believe I’ve ever seen top to bottom. Scoring 8 runs in multiple games and still losing is pathetic. Watching this looks like a total lack of coaching, discipline and in spots talent. Major misses in the portal, high rated guys not panning out happens but not scouting and just going off the internet rankings of players to cut big checks bothers me. Touring the state and beating your chest about this team preseason and having these results shows a total lack of awareness. It’s upsetting to say the least
I take nothing away from him and the nattys. I said currently, aka today, to ask for more money he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. He just got the most money he’s had post natty and but this shitbox together. He has said he failed, in more shifty words than that. This was a year of the most money he’s had, off a natty and all the momentum you could ask for at a school that loves baseball and supports it to the utmost. He misssed. He missed. He’s not perfect, I don’t want him fired, that would be the dumbest thing ever. Hes a good coach that got the Maneri syndrome maybe of laziness but he’s our guy. Just don’t bitch about money if you can’t fricking invest properly.
Not agreeing with the poster but JJ has no leg to currently stand on to ask for more or bitch about money. This team is fundamentally awful almost across the board. And the money he spent, is sitting in wood and one of them is probably doing eating challenges for more wings or hot dogs during a game.

Ask in a better position. LSU gave him a good allotment and he spent it poorly with this a result. Why would we put good money after bad.

Yes, transfer portal funds went heavy to basically a conduit to fast food and a sofa couch for the former starting 1st baseman.

If…if we get deep in their pen. 3 pitch strike outs and early pop outs ain’t gonna get that done.
Love it when he says “you probably don’t have to coach him he’s so smart”….that makes a lot of sense that that’s his thought process
Yorke needs to take lessons from Paige Spiranic in how to swing with huge tits. Seems he can’t get around those bad boys fast enough. But he does keep morale up with his hot dog eating competition between innings…soo I say let it ride
No excuse over here, we weren’t very good but congrats on your win and another coach going to jail or getting banned by the NCAA.
Gumbo would be gumbo bros in The Gultch or Spicy Bros in east Nashville. BBQ is Martins downtown or Edleys. Martins downtown has a great upstairs beer garden.

Man I’d love to give you pointers but it’s been a long time since I’ve been back. If the are still around, Pastime for food, Digillio bros is good Italian, Poor Boy Lloyds (but your going to NOLA so get poboys there), Parains, Sammy’s…student staple back in my day was AM Mart for a spicy turkey sandwich. Tsunamis sushi was fun, no clue now.

D was fine, lots of work to do on the O and ST. Might need a few secondary players and LBs though .
First row of tiger terrace on the 35 yard lined on the home side. Close to student section and band so you get the atmosphere, unobstructed view but not to high or far away. Tiger terrace only has like 4-5 rows I think so it’s not crowded. Best spot IMO
NIL is not pay for play, it’s annual contracts linked to the kids name image likeness. No claw backs on paid money. The can cancel future payments and that’s it. Ask UGA, pretty sure they dropped the bag on that #1 QB too early and he flipped to Vandy last minute. No claw backs, they are out of the money.
