re: Do you play one course mainly or play every course in your area? - mikedatyger
Multiple courses. Usually look for deals on GolfNow. LOTS of public access courses in Central Florida....

re: Spark golf - mikedatyger
Have anyone signed up for Spark golf league?
Not sure about BR, but I am playing in a Spark league here in Orlando. Seems to be well run. Weird having a virtual league, but I like it. If you are very competitive, you might get frustrated. Not seeing any rhyme or reason to the point...
standing water in no less than 10 bunkers throughout the course and most were in pitiful shape
I'm very surprised by this. Shame. I'd rather put my money toward the 2 courses at OCN over WA....

re: Waldorf Astoria Bonnet Creek - mikedatyger
I like it a lot. WA is usually great shape. Thought it was a challenging layout, but fair. Disney courses are fun. Pricey, but almost always in great shape. Agree with other post. Orange County National has 36 holes + a 9 hole short course. Panther Lake is a PGA qualifying course that is ...
Streamsong is very nice
I have only played the Blue course. I enjoyed it, but course-wise, it is no Bandon. Hope to play Red and Black sometime soon....

re: How many people here take Golf Vacations? - mikedatyger
t takes a whole day of flights to get there
I guess it depends on availability and time of year you go. It can be a pain, but I left early morning from Orlando, connected in Denver and landed in North Bend with enough time to play Pacific Dunes (early July). You can at least play t...

re: Football scrimmage with SLU or Southern. - mikedatyger
Why go through the trouble to do that before the season and risk injury?
NFL teams seem to not have an issue. Anytime you step on the field, you ALWAYS risk injury. Pickens, at Georgia, torn ACL in practice and is done for the year. I read something in one of the reviews that ta...

re: How many people here take Golf Vacations? - mikedatyger
What kind of prices are you looking at for Bandon?
Pricey. I was trying to do the math for a buddy group. I think I had it at about $3000 p/p during peak season for 5 days-4 nights (golf-36/day and lodging). Whether that is too much, depends on what your level of expectation ...

Football scrimmage with SLU or Southern. - mikedatyger
Does it violate NCAA rules to scrimmage another college? Just thought it would be good for the offense and defense to see something new in practice like the NFL does. You get so familiar with the same units that I think it would be harder to get real evaluations....

re: Etiquette, walking in 3 or 4some while they ride - mikedatyger
As long as you can keep up/pace, I don't see why it would be a problem. Very few courses allow walking in Central Florida. Mainly pace of play, but a lot of courses have significant gaps between holes that would require you to really hustle to get to the next hole....

re: How many people here take Golf Vacations? - mikedatyger
Fortunate to have a very understanding spouse. (no pics). We usually combine our vacations with golf. Everywhere we travel, a golf course is near. Trip to Scotland - St. Andrews and others (her idea!) Trip to Maine - Sunday River and others Trip to Virginia - Golden Horseshoe and Kingsmill Trip...
