The Wisconsin Supreme Court has banned absentee ballot drop boxes in the state.
Wisconsin Public Radio reports, “The majority decision was written by Justice Rebecca Bradley and joined by the rest of the court’s conservative majority, including swing Justice Brian Hagedorn.”

“Nothing in the statutory language detailing the procedures by which absentee ballots may be cast mentions drop boxes or anything like them,” Bradley wrote in the ruling.

“WEC’s staff may have been trying to make voting as easy as possible during the pandemic, but whatever their motivations, WEC must follow Wisconsin statutes,” Bradley continued. “Good intentions never override the law.”

Additionally, voters must personally deliver absentee ballots to the clerk’s office. Others, including roommates and spouses, will not be allowed to deliver ballots for them.

People still need to be thrown from high places

I agree with the ruling, but.. seriously? "Good intentions"? Maybe they were speaking hypothetically.

The real enemy of voter fraud that flips election is Automatic Voter Registration.

This is what we need to end.

They were. That was the “excuse” they used, and the court said your “excuse” still has to comply with statute.

This was always the play. Fix the issues ... AFTER the 2020 election.

This should be occurring in states across the country. State and local officials used the "Covid Emergency" to override state and local voting laws. However, the Supreme Court has ruled that you can't just pick and choose when to follow voting laws. If you want to change the voting laws, then it has to be via the law making process. A lot of post election lawsuits focused on this, but a funny thing happened along the way, it turned out no one had standing to bring these suits

This is where the messaging of the "stolen election" went off the rails. The focus should have solely been on ballots cast that were illegal based on state and local law. Instead, we got machine switching votes, preprinted ballots from China, tallying errors, etc.

Wisconsin Supreme Court also said you couldn't use COVID as an excuse to vote "indefinitely confined" in 2020 either.

Democrats told their people to do it anyway and every single one of those votes were counted.

"Indefinitely confined" was also oddly enough the only way to vote without an ID in Wisconsin. It is supposed to be reserved for the homebound, infirmed.

Democrats don't care about courts or laws. They will do what they want.

They know that if they get a ballot into the stack to be counted, it will be counted. It doesn't matter how illegal the path. No judge or court will prevent the counting either for fear of being labelled a vote suppressor or disenfranchising minorities.

We must count all votes!!!

I know that postal drop boxes are used for the same thing, but I wonder if the increased legal crimes of postal fraud are part of why they wanted the drop boxes.

Even though our postal system is a corrupt, leftist, wasteland, they still have better tracking than the stupid drop boxes, and there are stiffer penalties if someone is convicted of postal fraud.

Agree to a point. But if we were validating votes cast properly who is or isn’t registered wouldn’t be as important.

You think the Wisconsin Election Commission cares about the law?

Hint: they don’t.

If this is enforced, Trump wins Wisconsin.

You meant to say “if this is enforced, the Democrats will have to go back to using same day registration to win the election.”

Couple things....

First, this court decision came out in July, 2022. Why is GP posting articles on it now?

Second, drop boxes had been in use in Wisconsin for years prior to 2020, and no one bothered to bring a lawsuit before.

It sucks that the Wisconsin election commission wasn't following the law, but you can't just wait until your guy loses and then complain about it.

So it is official. Laws were not followed.

Yet nobody was arrested.

You can start with the governor of PA. Shapiro has instituted a order that automatically registers every Pennsylvanian to vote, whether they want to be registered or not....

That's ^^^^ how you prep for mass mail in ballot harvesting with no chain of custody.
