re: Watered down version of Save America Act has a chance of passing the Senate.

would be VOLUNTARY for states to comply
————————————————-
So the Red States comply and have rules about who can vote, while the Blue States just have a feee for all.
We’d be better off with no bill than a bill that holds one side to a standard while allowing the other side to ignore all standards.

I’ve done this before and just sold it for a dollar. I had a bill of sale printed off the internet.
This has been my parents strategy since the early 70s and mine since the late 90s. Yep it works.
I like index funds. They are for those like me who don’t have the knowledge or desire to track stocks and pick winners. Just have the money taken out of my check and let it ride for 30-40 years.

We live in an awesome country. When our boys fly their lethal war machines over a beach and everyone gets up to wave and clap it lets you know we aren’t scared of our government.
I’m at the beach this week and I’d love a flyover, but we never get them at our beach.

This is so limousine liberals can feel good about themselves without actually helping one poor Native American.

re: 'The Odyssey' screenings canceled after director faces backlash over film

The Odyssey will be similar to Discloser Day in that it will have a large opening weekend. I saw DD on opening weekend and the theatre was packed.
Then it will be up to The Odyssey to be good enough to sustain success for a few weeks or like DD it will wane quickly.
If the Odyssey is good it will be huge, if it sucks it will do ok, but won’t make a profit.

Soccer is a communist sport.
I’m not surprised they divide the money between those who earned it and those who are able to have children.

They don’t seem to be leading to many arrests in high crime areas. I have yet to hear of flock cameras identifying those involved in “teen” takeovers.
They should make no more than the median income of the City.
Which is $44,148.

To many women getting divorced is their greatest financial win they will ever have. They are proud of it. Kind of like if a guy finds a great stock and gets in early.

How about we teach kids to read and write first.

The next civil war will begin with government officials arresting each other.
I saw this when it came out and while I don’t remember the character names the only two characters in the entire movie who were not despicable were the black friend who drove a taxi, and the Japanese ping pong player.
Was I really supposed to pull for Marty the jerk to beat the Japanese guy in front of his own people.
Even the dog in this movie was a terrible dog

If the UK police had guns they would just shoot the white native citizens and apologize to the immigrants for the noise.

“ A typical mid-sized data center uses around 300,000 gallons of water a day, roughly what 1,000 homes consume. However, a massive "hyperscale" data center—the kind built to train and run modern AI models—can consume up to 5 million gallons of water per day. That is equivalent to the daily water needs of a town of 30,000 to 50,000 people. When a single campus pulls that much water, it acts like a massive straw in the local watershed.
quote:
According to a Department of Energy report, the indirect water footprint of U.S. data centers from electricity generation reached roughly 211 billion gallons in 2023—nearly 12 times the amount of water they consumed directly on-site. Because the AI boom is driving up power demand.”
————————————————-
Ok, So what happens to the water that is “consumed”????
One of two things happen. The water either gets turned into steam and released into the air where it condenses and falls as rain, or it is returned to the river warmer than it was but still liquid.
Neither of these things “use” or “consume” water it just either was it up or moves it a few miles. But the only water that humans “consume” is water sent to space. That water isn’t coming back. But water released as steam is just moving a few miles it’s not going anywhere.

I’ve asked this question in a few forums and it has yet to be answered.
How do data centers “use” water. The water they heat up and either release back into a river or lake is not “used”, nor is water that has been turned into steam and it falls as rain a few miles away.

It will be impossible. We are not divided by State or even region. We are divided urban and rural.
If a State or group of States left what would happen to the urban areas of that State. Would the cities of Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile leave the State of Alabama??

DeSantis actually does the things Trump talks about.
I realize Trump would do them if he could and making changes in one State is much more difficult than making changes Nationally. But I’m very impressed with DeSantis.
