0 accountability for GF putting himself in the situation he was in and 100% on Chauvin
O accountability for the dead guy? Really? He paid with his life! Not sure I agree with finding Chauvin guilty on the murder charges, but there was ample evidence to support the verdicts. T...

re: Is there any PT members who believe Chauvin intentionally killed Floyd? - Dday63
I don't think it was intentional. I also don't think it had anything to do with race, unless you think Chauvin had a fear of Floyd based in part on the color of his skin. But I do believe Chauvin acted with a callous disregard for the safety of his detainee and should serve time for that....

re: best thing that could have happened for Chauvin - guarantees reversal on appeal. - Dday63
None of the charges required a finding of intent. I'm surprised he was found guilty of murder 2, but none of the charges in this case required a specific state of mind....

re: Derek Chauvin Verdict Prediction Poll: - Dday63
Guilty of 3rd degree murder. Sufficient facts to support it. Major part of appeal will be statutory interpretation...Appellate court has already ruled the Statute can apply; I don't know what MN Supreme Court will do....
the idiot defense attorney got the lead FBI investigator to say he heard Floyd say, "I ate too many drugs
No, the investigator said he couldn't make it out, but agreed it sounded like "I ate too many drugs". On cross, he agreed it could have been "I ain't do any drugs." I guess t...
Monday Morning Quarterbacking Bull Shite.
Right. Everyone on the street could see and hear that Floyd was in distress, but the man on top of him can not be expected to see that even though he is trained to do so. And I'm the one Monday Morning Quarterbacking....

re: The medical examiner who just testified was devastating to the prosecution - Dday63
Murder 3 in Minnesota is what is known as “depraved heart murder”, which I don’t see applying to this case at all.
I agree that is what it is intended to cover, but the language is broad enough that it could apply here. It is any act "eminently dangerous to others. And with a dep...

re: The medical examiner who just testified was devastating to the prosecution - Dday63
Chauvin did know that the hold he was using on Floyd could cause serious injury or even be fatal under certain circumstances. It was in his training, and he exhibited that knowledge in the field. Once Floyd's hands were cuffed behind his back, he should have been moved to another position. Part...

re: Does it really matter if Chauvin is innocent? - Dday63
Second Degree Manslaughter, of the three, is the most applicable, but the prosecution does not have an easy time proving this, either, because it requires that Chauvin take an unreasonable risk, KNOWING that it could kill Floyd.
Not true. I'm not a Minnesota attorney, but from wh...
You don't throw away your whole life knowingly choking someone out when a crowd is surrounding you with video cameras. He didn't know he was killing him.
None of the charges against Chauvin require knowledge or intent. In Minnesota, 2nd degree murder and manslaughter do not re...

re: Chauvin defense plays video "I ate too many drugs" - Dday63
Clearly Chauvin should have let the perp go because he was in a self-induced medical crisis and Chauvin should have magically determined that Floyd ingested a lethal amount of drugs, despite his saying that "I ain't high on nothing".
Shouldn't have let him go, but once his hands we...

The paramedic on the scene testified. She was yelling at Chauvin to stop and let her check Floyd out, and Chauvin told her to be quiet. She tried to tell him how to turn Floyd over and start CPR, and he ignored her. That was her testimony....
Doesn’t matter. They are going to convict because the media told them too
They are going to convict because Chavin's boss testified that he did not follow proper procedure, and should have shifted Floyd to another position after cuffing his hands behind his back. The jury will h...

re: Rubio asks MLB commissioner if he'll give up Augusta golf club membership - Dday63
The questions about China are legit. While it is whataboutism, it is still hypocritical to continue to do business with China while making such a public business decision about Georgia. The questions about Augusta National membership are stupid. Manfred is not saying he will personally never do ...

re: Is The Masters the next ... - Dday63
Augusta does cave to public pressure, it just does it quietly. When Shoal Creek in Birmingham hosted the PGA in 1990 and caught all kinds of heat for its exclusivity, Augusta National quietly extended an invitation to television executive Ron Johnson, its first black member. While the club initi...

re: WAP considered song of the year yet Dr Suess gets canceled - Dday63
Dr. Seuss has not been canceled. They have stopped publishing 6 of his books that had some cringeworthy material in them. Still plenty of Seuss to go around. Meanwhile, my autographed copy of Mulberry Street just became one of my most valuable possessions....
