The problem I think this is running into in the senate is that every region wants a no DST setup that is most favorable to their area.

I'm not sure this as good of an idea as people think. On the seasonal fringes, the sunrise/sunset times are going to be way worse than they are right now. Particularly with sunrise being impractically late in ways that will make normal operations of society a fair deal worse. Do you want school bus pickups in pitch black dark or rush hour morning commutes in the dead of night? It's going to happen more often without DST.

If more sun is better for fighting crime, I guess the criminals will just commit crimes up until sunrise at 9 am ? This whole DST year round is a stupid idea.

It’s a bad idea, unless people are okay with winter and summer hours being different for some things. If we are going to do this why don’t we just get rid of US time zones as well, so I don’t have to do math on meeting availability

They need to fix this old arse change that was used far past its use case.

Its also stupid because of we do not, ill have to deal with 7 times zones at work between US and CA employees.

But..... our government has proven they can't do anything productive in the senate.

Just a retirement home for lifelong polis to still draw a check until death.

Year round DST would suck and everyone would hate it, just like they did in the 70s.

With that said, I’m no longer a year round ST proponent, either. In the same way that I don’t want it dark until 830, I don’t want it light at 430, either.

I propose we go back to the original dates of DST before the two extensions: Last Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October. I think my biggest objections to DST come from it currently being extended all the way back to the second Sunday of March and to the first Sunday in November.

If people desperately want more daylight for Halloween, they can keep November if we go back to the last week of April.

Us old retired people go to bed early (because we're tired) and get up early (because we want to celebrate being alive). DST makes it hard for us to sleep when the sun is still up. Go back to standard time all year.

The more he pushes, the greater the chance of a 100% NO vote from senate Dems. That is, if it’s not a 100% NO already.

Everybody is tired of changing their clocks. Pick a time and stop changing the fricking clock. I support this vote. Get it done.

I was told by on here it’s not Trump’s job to push for bills to be passed.

Weird.
