ESPN released its latest College Football Playoff and bowl projections this week, and both Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach have LSU missing the 12-team playoff.

Instead, both writers projected the Tigers to land in the Citrus Bowl against Penn State.

The Citrus Bowl will be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, Jan. 2, with kickoff set for noon on ABC.

Bonagura: Penn State vs. LSU
Schlabach: Penn State vs. LSU

So far, both writers have Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida making the 12-team playoff.

LSU is coming off a dominant 35-6 win over Texas A&M and will host McNeese State on Saturday before returning to SEC play at Kentucky on Oct. 10.

LSU will be in the CFP by the end of the season. Everyone jumping on the Bama train, but they have played no one.

If LSU finishes 10-2, they will be in the CFP. If they finish 9-3, they won't. It's that simple.
