But IMO it's got as much chance of happening as AOC has the chance of reaching 100 IQ.

Then you are overthinking it.
Accept the natural part. Sunlight appears and disappears every day. We don’t need to do anything about that.
Let go of the manmade part that requires humans to do extra things like remind each other to set clocks forward or back an hour.
The people of Arizona know the freedom of never having to mess with that crap again and wonder why the rest of the US think changing clock settings twice a year is worth the effort they put into it.
Once you experience the zero affect of making that change, you wonder why you spent so many year of your life being retarded.

Boomers know this is not the best thing to do. Because we tried this and when kids started getting killed at bus stops or on their way we reversed our mistake.

It is no different in other places in the world that have strange time zones.
In this day and age of GPS synchronization, your phone and GPS will change with the new abnormalities in time if one state chooses to do something crazy.
That sure does make it complicated for border cities where state lines pass through the city.

Right now, in Louisiana, it is light enough to drive without headlamps from about 6:45-7:00AM to 8:00-8:15PM. What is so bad about that?

Did the company deal with other time zones? Why was AZ the only location that required you to “figure out” the time?
Was it a software problem? Or a lack of google skills problem?

There is a historical precedence for this. In today's connected world, the entire world should switch to UTC ('Greenwich Mean Time').
The historical precedence is the train system in the US. Before trains connected cities with faster travel, and schedules, each city was on its own time zone - high noon, as measured by the sun.
Fast travel made that a mess. You'd need to reset your watch at every stop to keep up. So they consolidated time zones to minimize the problem (but created other problems). Today, we are instantly connected with any point on the Earth. If we all used the same system, then coordinating conference calls would be far simpler. No confusion over "what time is it where you are".
Sure, different areas would eat dinner at a different time, but I think you'd get used to that.
