Within a month or two.

Still remember the day I told my parents I was going to marry her.

Been together 20 years.
Nothing but respect for that guy and the fact he got Vandy to the cusp of being in a playoff.

VANDY

And to actually stand up and admit their faults are their own, props.

Meanwhile, ND is screaming like a spoiled child and taking their ball and going home.

ND should be removed from consideration until they join a conference. Even more so now that they are acting like little bitches.
Hey, its the Notre Dame way

Schedule 2 good teams, lose to them, then make the playoffs.

Sounds like the rest of the schools need to fight to force them into a conference if they are getting special treatment like this and run away from tough schedules.
Imagine what it would be like if the AP still decided the National Champion.

Melts would be epic

Is this how you entertain yourself while sitting in your cuck chair?
Exactly. The committee created the issue by keeping ND ahead of Miami until the final week.

Had this been resolved weeks ago, this would be a non-issue.

Same with Bama. Anyone with a brain cell knew they weren't leaving Bama out even if the score was 56-0.

You can't punish a team in this 12 team format that HAS to play in a championship game while others from the same conference are ahead of them and sitting at home.

This is bad take.

It was a bad take to expand it to 12.

Give me an argument that there are 24 teams that can win the natty. There isn't one.

I'll do you one better. Make the playoffs 8 teams, no byes and no automatic qualifiers.

I'd say they mostly got it right, minus the auto bids for G5 teams.

For the current format they use, I'd say 6/10.

But for how they keep changing metrics and what matters every year, 2/10.

Bring back the BCS and remove the G5 teams and seed accordingly. Done.
Just keep the 12 team playoff and use the BCS process to determine the seeding.

The biggest issue with the BCS before was it was only 2 teams.

If they would have expanded back then and continued to use the BCS, then the talking heads point would not carry much weight.

Hell, add in more metrics if you want, but I would trust that system today over the committee even if I had a few gripes about the teams the computer would include.

But a 12 team playoff using the BCS formula is better than what they are doing now.
Personally, I dont think an independent school should be allowed in the CFP at all.

The G5s should also have their own playoff or not get automatic bids either.

But for ND, the brand they have created and their "storied" history, means nothing in todays landscape if you are not in a conference.

They stand to gain more by joining the ACC. Im sure they would have a lot more say in revenue if they joined and it would make the ACC a lot more relevant on the football side.

I have not looked into this at all, but I wouldnt be surprised if the ACC is willing to give them a bigger peice of the profits if they did join. It would be a win-win situation there.

Nothing would be stopping them from still scheduling USC every year as an OOC game that draws huge numbers.

Corrected that in my OP.

Thanks for pointing that out.

It’s going to move to 16 teams soon.

No point. Then everyone would continue to bitch about 17 and 18 getting left out.

It never needed to go to 12 either.

UGA will have 1 less rest day

If we win.

Why would they do that?

OSU plays the 31th and UGA the 1st, per the ESPN schedule shown.

However, the winner in those brackets play the next game on the 8th.

The opposite bracket that play on the 1st play their next game on the 9th.

I know its just 1 day but still.

Whoa, why does 1 team have one less rest day after the quarter final games??

The other 3 teams get a full week.

Based on what ESPN has, OSt plays the 31st and UGA plays the 1st, but they play the next game on the 8th. The others playing on New Years play their next game on the 9th.

Negative ghost rider.

They aren't going to punish a team that is forced to play an extra game

And until ND joins a conference, I won't feel bad about them not making it.

Now should G5 schools get auto-bids? No.

Remove them, and the issue is non-existent.

Just say the obvious part Nick, the G5 needs their own playoff

JMU and Tulane have 0 chance to win this.

Also remember that Ohio States regular season strength of schedule was ranked 54th.

They didn't play anyone. They aren't No2. Not even close

Ohio State with a schedule softer than cashmere sweater getting beat by a team thats never played in the big game.

Love every second of it.
Agreed.

That -3 rushing stat in the 4th Q was not anything I ever thought I would see when we play Bama.

Just dominated them tonight.
