Best thing in life is to not give a shite about what other people think.
Stop giving words power. Enough sissies already in the world.

Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed
I looked it up and saw no major swarms for this year, but they were crawling all over my backyard 2 nights ago still in their shells.

Someone made a good point on a podcast about this the other day.
He said this huge surge in communist and socialist sympathies is because the current capitalist system no longer serves to benefit people and enhance their life like it did before.
You can work one job, have a stay at home wife with 2+ kids and a home on one average to above average salary in most parts of the country
The system their parents told them would let them do anything they want no longer does, and if you are lucky enough, your money does not go as far as it did years ago.
And I belive he does have a point.
Sure, a bunch if lazy tax leeches want the government to take care of them, but some of these folks that are successful and do want this are doing it because they think the current system is rigged against them and no longer works.
Its sadly only a matter of time before the great socialist experience arrives in the US.
Europe is always a good precursor to what eventually idiots try and implement here.
Conservatives have to win in the next election or you better get ready to pony up your tax dollars even more to give the others free Healthcare and a guaranteed standard income.

They need to fix this old arse change that was used far past its use case.
Its also stupid because of we do not, ill have to deal with 7 times zones at work between US and CA employees.
But..... our government has proven they can't do anything productive in the senate.
Just a retirement home for lifelong polis to still draw a check until death.

I love what I do and the pay is more than fair for my skills.
However, the overall atmosphere and morale at the company as of late is not good.
That and they have changed the bonus structure 3 times in the last 4 years.
Regardless of their reasoning, its evident they did not like the company hitting its goals and having to pay out to us lowly salary folks at the bottom keeping the lights on.
Better believe C levels get theirs every year.

re: Any cold cases where you live?

The one I always remember in my hometown growing up was Kyle Clinkscales.
They drained several lakes near where I grew up and even had someone implicate the guy the lived next to our property.
Though they found the body eventually, it never made sense where it was because people drove over that place for years and somehow never saw the car.
"The cold case of Kyle Clinkscales, a 22-year-old Auburn University student from LaGrange, Georgia, was officially closed in April 2024 after his skeletal remains were identified. Clinkscales disappeared on January 27, 1976, after leaving a bar to drive back to college; his 1974 Ford Pinto was found submerged in an Alabama creek in December 2021 with his wallet and bones inside.
Although DNA testing in February 2023 confirmed the remains belonged to Clinkscales, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation medical examiner ruled the manner of death as "undetermined" due to inconclusive autopsy results. The case remains closed unless new information surfaces, leaving the question of whether he was murdered or died in an accident unresolved."

Had to tell my girlfriend, with tears in her eyes, that I had to let her go.
Her family would not approve of us and just kept causing problems.
For whatever reason, her Husband and kids just didnt want us to be together.

I get screwed over every year in taxes.
Trumps Big Beutiful BS bill doubled what I normally have to pay.
The US Govt ponzi scheme continues to screw over the working class.
Just glad I get to help fund war overseas in 3rd world countries and help the democrats study gay animal habits ir whatever it is they do.

Let's be honest, how "accomodating" would this same group be for Christian students?
Something tells me this type of rule only goes one way

For me, its the gay slurs and making fun of disabled folks.
Yeah, not something im proud to admit, but I was one of those kids in High School you hope your son never made friends with or daughter would date.
Still regret that person I was, but if social media was around, I would be considered non-hireable.
Turned my life around after meeting my wife, but im just glad those years weren't recorded on any form of media.

Hey, I voted for Trump, but these stupid little hissy fits he throws when he doesnt get his way piss me off.
These new tariffs are no different.
Two orders from overseas that I am expecting this week have now been returned back because, on a $220 order, UPS says I now owe them $110 for "Customs and Import Fees" and the other is almost the same as the package value itself.
And these orders were sent by family members BEFORE he imposed the new global tariffs.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. The South could have won. Guerrilla warfare should have been the strategy. And a fight to the death resolve Japan had.
Several Confederate leaders wanted to do this.
However, the main reason Lee surrendered and advised Davis to do the same was his worry about the time it would take for the south to recover.
If the guerrilla warfare continued, Lee knew that it would lead to even harsher treatment of southerners by the north and that the reconstruction phase would take even longer.
In that regard, he was correct.
However, a majority of the south wanted it to end.
The south was never a united front and Lee knew that the only way they even had a chance to win was to force the attack as just playing defense was not an option due to the limited resources the south had.

A lot can still be learned from that great struggle of our nations history:
Patrick Cleburne - Jan 2. 1864 proposal to the Army of the Tennessee:
"......It means that the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the war; will be impressed by all the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, our maimed veterans as fit objects for derision..."
"It is said slavery is all we are fighting for, and if we give it up we give up all. Even if this were true, which we deny, slavery is not all our enemies are fighting for. It is merely the pretense to establish sectional superiority and a more centralized form of government, and to deprive us of our rights and liberties."
Then you have what I think sums up the war as a whole since the Confederacy was never a united front:
William T. Sherman:
"Southern men make good soldiers, but lousy confederates."
