I would agree if it weren't for the fact that the vast majority of those silent films featured privileged white males chauvinist pigs. Laugh at them and their misfortune all you wish. It's simply not mathematically possible to say anything that could be offensive to this particular group.

I just watched it on IFC as well in the last few weeks. Sixteen Candles is a SJW’s worst nightmare. It is such a great movie in so many ways. Just watching it makes me think back to when our world was in much simpler times. The 80’s was the greatest decade ever.

That movie was awesome, and it stereotyped nearly every high school click including the popular cliques.
Could just as well be the Italian stereotype of the family and guy ("oily bull hunk") Molly Ringwold's sister was marrying as anything else.
Of course they could edit out the gong noise they played every time you saw Long Duk Dong.

Don't forget to include ALL Richard Pryor/Gene Wilder movies and ALL Mel Brooks movies. A warning wouldn't be sufficient for those movies. I expect entire scenes would be cut.
