Wife likes the movie so she recorded it. At the beginning she stopped it and summoned me. There's a big red screen that says:

'Warning! This movie contains stereotypes that may be offensive.'

I assume they mean the Asian guy. Heck, he's the only funny character in the movie.

I would think Long duk-Dong is anti-stereotypical.

As a child of the eighties with 20/20 hindsight, what deviant writers and directors made high-school sexual situations in the 80's so date-rapey and cringe?
More so offensive than a racial or sexual proclivity slight, IMO.

Because screwing while drunk wasn't a hanging offense back then. The only one I remember thinking at the time "that's rape" was Revenge of the Nerds, when he screwed a chick while wearing a mask, pretending to be her boyfriend.

It's fascinating how prudish the modern leftists are taking society. The liberals were once the folks pushing on the socially acceptable boundaries of society.

We call them "liberal", but the modern leftists are nothing of the sort. They want to govern/regulate all facets of social discourse. All seemingly for some unnamed higher calling and righteousness.

They probably just mean the characters assume traditional normative cis-gendered roles.

Movies like 16 Candles and Grease are highly offensive these days.

If the characters were trans or gay, no need for the warning notice.

Because high school sexual situations are typically date-rapey and cringe.

The awkward sexual tension in high school is a normal part of growing up into adulthood. Writers and directors in the 80's were able to play on that awkwardness at a time when they had the freedom of artistic expression to do so.

Yet no offensive warning on commercials that have figs talking about medication to help with the hiv, and cuddling/kissing on each other. That's freaking nasty offensive stuff people needs a heads up on.

Such a clown world.

We have gotten to the point where a lot of people are coming out hard against this bull crap. I love 1/4 black producer and 1/2 Asian Lawyer on Steven Crowder's show. The HodgeTwins are a must listen too.

People are getting fed up with the "sensitivity" crap and starting to attack it.

Good.

After a few decades of the left's sexual revolution, free love and lots of one-night-stands, it is a most curious twist.
