The Louisiana Supreme Court early Friday morning issued a stay in the indictment of Attorney General Liz Murrill by a New Orleans grand jury.

quote:

The state Supreme Court issued the stay after considering several factors involving the indictment itself and the chaotic moments leading up to it being handed down and announced by special prosecutor Laurie White.

“While the record before this Court is undeveloped, there is considerable support for the view that the Attorney General is likely to succeed on the merits of a motion to quash this indictment on either a legal basis or due to apparent procedural irregularities,” the state Supreme Court said its ruling. “She obviously also suffers irreparable harm by allowing this matter to proceed without these important issues being addressed.”

All of this because they’re throwing a fit that the legislature told them no, you cannot keep having two do-nothing Clerk of Court positions.

The lengths they are going to over this makes me wonder what is being covered up by this.

They lost a grifting pathway to corrupt wealth position. Over time they know that consolidation will eliminate useless career leeches that populate the combined departments.

Didn’t you know they are entitled to public funds and do-nothing jobs?

Unusual procedure for sure and didn’t know that relief was available directly from the LASC.

I hope the indictment gets quashed and the Feds (not the LSP due to perceived bias) launch a deprivation of civil rights investigation of Laurie White, Roche, Moreno, and Williams and whatever other Democrat political operative was involved.

The pettiness (on both sides) and retardation (by Orleans) is incomprehensible. THIS is the line in the sand for Orleans?

SFP, or any other lawyer, is it normal for the local jurisdiction to have the power to appoint a special prosecutor (from among their allies) to investigate and prosecute a state elected official?

Laurie White is the local Gloria Allred.

I said when the story of the GJ first hit this would not turn out well for the players driving it. NO city and parish government is about to learn a very hard lesson.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a Special Session called to rein those fricktards in once and for all.
