WWL TV just led off the 6 o'clock news with this story.

-Supreme Court issued a stay, but "as of 15 minutes the lead prosecutor says there is still valid arrest warrant out"

-Murrill is now following suit against the White, the prosecutor, to get the warrant squashed

-Former Mayor Morial wants to help bring the sides together

More befuddling than Temu Trump waging this petty political war is watching the entire board abandon their professed conservative values just to spite an unpopular poster and the only city worth a shite in this whole state.

Hey, maybe you can start a movement for New Orleans to secede from Louisiana, shut down the Causeway and the twinspan, would kinda suck for St. Bernard, but sacrifices have to be made.

But by Friday evening, Murrill said that the special prosecutor handling her case, former New Orleans Criminal Court judge Laurie White, had refused to recall her arrest warrant and $400,000 bond.

An attorney for Murrill, Laura Cannizzaro Rodrigue, wrote in the emergency filing Friday night to the Supreme Court that they had sought to have Murrill’s warrant recalled in district court. She quoted a response from White to two of Murrill’s attorneys, Kyle Schonekas and Blake Arcuri.

quote:

White then added, “I object to the removal of the capias (warrant), as the accused should not get any more preferential treatment than any other criminally charged defendant,” according to the filing from Murrill’s legal team.

White also accused Murrill’s team of asking the Supreme Court “to micromanage this case differently than a regular pending matter,” according to the filing.

“Speaking of conflicts, is the State of Louisiana paying for the defense of the accused using taxpayer money??!” White added, the filing says.

While the Louisiana Supreme Court’s order staying Murrill’s indictment noted several potential flaws with the grand jury process, the order did not specifically address the warrant.

Have you ever noticed that it’s free to go to the northshore but costs money to get to New Orleans?

LA would go broke without New Orleans. No one is traveling to Louisiana to visit Mandeville or Alexandria or Bastrop.

People in New Orleans complain about the State exerting authority over the people of New Orleans. The rest of the State punches air that New Orleans exists at all.

Bold move considering the outstanding case against White being defended by the AG’s office.

She’s begging to get fricked, much like she did with her staff.

Nope. All we need is the Port. We would be better off without the baggage.

Describe the cringy part in your world. I’d love to hear What vanilla political speak you’d prefer that describes the ridiculous nature of the situation.. or tell us how you feel this is all above board and warranted..

Personally I’d love to see Murril head right on down to the courthouse and see what would happen.

It’s people like you, with this attitude, who make people like me really dislike New Orleanians. I dated a New Orleanian for a very brief time in college. On about my third visit with his family his mother referred to my as “country trash.” The woman literally had never traveled beyond the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan Area (she was less traveled than Ignatius J. Reilly’s mother) yet she called me, who was pretty well traveled for my age, “country trash.” We didn’t date much longer after that

Must be the city’s French heritage because Parisians are notoriously awful about treating French from outside Paris as provincial hicks, regardless of where they are from.

Tourism isn't the vast economic engine that it might seem to you on the wrong side of the Waffle House counter. The river is far more important than being an iconic spot to get drunk.

Your taste in men has nothing to do with New Orleans.
