The Supreme Court was asked to quash the indictment and alternatively to stay. They declined to quash but issued a stay order.
What's the practical difference? How can an indictment or prosecution proceed if it is stayed?

Maybe, but I don’t think the outgoing coroner could take $$$ and the furniture with him. It was cleaned up about 20 years ago (I think). It may have been the constable’s office.

NOLA brought everything on themselves. They elect a woman twice who cratered the city finances to the point of having to take drastic measures just to pay city workers.

They stayed it but allowed motions to quash and/or recuse be filed. Allowing more of an evidentiary record to be presented on how it was obtained.
