Kids wanting change and socialism questions..

I was watching a video and some college kid was saying that we need socialism. Tax the rich, feed and house the poor.
She went on to say that The Government of The United States must fall for things to be better.
I thought if the government falls, then so does social security which I paid in all my life like others who did to have a little something.
Now these kids want to over throw the government and want socialism to help subsidize them.
So If I am understand this right, they just dont want to work like we did. They just want stuff free now without paying the price. They want to put the burden on others.
How close aam I to being right?
Discuss.
Thanks

You’re close to the target, but not quite over it.
Basically, the status quo isn’t really working. Anyone who is under 40 who has had to look for a job since Covid knows what I am talking about. We have engineers and stem graduates who are struggling to find work amidst rapidly rising costs.
People latch on to change when the status quo isn’t working. They will take the devil they don’t know over the devil they do when they have nothing to lose. The reality is zoomers are working far more hours on average than previous generations at that age yet have significantly less disposable income, primarily due to the rising costs of healthcare, rent, and education. This isn’t a “they just don’t want to work” problem. This is a “why am I working when it isn’t paying me enough to live” problem, or a “why am I trying to find work when there are no jobs” problem.
The key to fighting against this issue isn’t to just make fun of them or support the status quo. The way to fix this is to address their concerns by less drastic measures. Affordability of housing is a huge problem. There are free market based solutions. We should be touting them. The same is true for reforming entitlements and bringing down the costs of healthcare and education. We must counter bad ideas with good ideas or else the worst ideas will win out in the end.
If conditions do not approve, the young men will revolt.

I disagree.
Life has always been hard.
I remember engineers struggling to find work in the 90s.
Zoomers don't remember that because they weren't alive.
All they see are the results 30 years later. They are clueless.
Just like Gen x was clueless to previous generations 60 years ago.

Big government is the main driver of their problems, they don’t get that doubling down on that will make it worse.

Graduating college in 1980 and having to work 3 jobs to make ends meet was what I had to do. No all the "gotta haves" that we see today from the younger groups. Just went to work and eventually saved enough to live a comfortable life. Today people expect to start off in the comfortable zone without putting in the work or time, which is not how life really works.

Of course, which is why it is important to point out HOW government is the problem and what changes would actually fix those problems.

I'm the same as you but a generation behind you (graduated college early in 1999).
I was a busboy for 4 years and waited tables for another 4. I worked extra jobs (warehouse) over the summer and christmas.
I moved out on my own and was responsible for 100% of my bills 2 weeks after graduating high school. I was blessed to have a brother with a car who worked with me in the restaurant until I saved enough for my own wheels.
I graduated college, got a job, and continued waiting tables because being poor is hard. The solution is to stop being poor.

These kids on the fast track to getting exactly what they want.
And they gonna learn this lesson for the rest of their lives.

I disagree. They are a lazy generation, as a whole.

Yeah, that's the Democrat party. They build nothing, destroy everything, and blame you for their actions.

The screenshot is probably incorrect on the future SS payment (lowball). But the sentiment is absolutely correct.
The communist vs capitalist argument is the labor vs owner argument.
A laborer is guaranteed a pension. The common retirement offered in the 30s to 80s.
Just like social security from the 30s to the 2020s.
An owner is someone who bought investment funds, stocks, ETFs/indexes.
Like the growth of 401ks from the 70s to the 2020s.
Like the creation of trump accounts.
The country did itself a huge disservice with the socialist democrats (FDR) funneling society into these punitive labor retirement systems.
The sooner we can turn average Americans from laborers into owners through capitalism (stock exchanges), the sooner we can get away from communist radicals who want to burn everything down.
There is a great video on this from maxinomics on youtube (going over the history of labor and property ownership since feudal times).

I had a chat with a neighbor back around 1990. He was a DE teacher. That's 'distributive education' and HS kids split class room work with an actual part time job off campus. He put his finger to my chest and said:
"Zach, all a person needs to do to get a job is two things: Get to work on time every day and Be Polite! That's all. Now if you can read, write and do simple math...then you can move up into a management position."

They will be cool with it, until they figure out the 100,000 a year job they want when the graduate will be a 30,000 job bc we have to redistribute the wealth to pay for it.
I’m 100% for letting colleges go full out on the nobody is better than anybody. If you have an A, you now have a C bc retard over there got an F, it’s only fair to give up some of your points for them. Let it boil down to everyone has an F bc there are no A students left to take points from. They live in this world where socialism sounds good bc nobody is taking their hard earned shite away from them for the “greater good”. Start bunking homeless and illegals in the dorms with them, etc. they need a little real world before they crusade for insane shite.

No offense.
He was a teacher. For a reason.

Its not about being hard, its about being affordable. A degree from LSU in 1990 would cost about 10k. Now its over 10k a year. Want to take a guess if starting wages for a recent college graduate have risen enough to cover that increase?
The same amount of work put in now is worth less than it was 30 years ago and that pisses people off, and they want to see radical change. The older generations can either start helping to fix the current system or see it slip more towards socialism as they die off.
