He is a journeyman OL coach whose last stop was a step down from his previous. Now i do believe he is an upgrade, it would hard not to be, but I'm not going go passed cautiously optimistic until i see the product on the field.

Not that long ago you would be correct. Then USM went to the sun belt and abandoned all ideas of becoming a bigger program.

I think he is a great coach and did a very good job with the defense this year. Him staying would also go a long way to having some sort of continuity on defense. I do think that Kiffin could replace him with another quality coach but there is a reason LSU is trying to keep him.
