But the Steelers were fun to watch…
The fact is that cities and states compete for these franchises and usually pay whatever it takes…

other than the Albert Brooks documentary, what was the last feature he had that had any sort of impact? The Bucket List?

The Brooks doc was great.

I would say "Stand by me" has had an impact on American culture...

A lot of fun with Barbara Stanwyk and Sydney Greenstreet. It also featured

S. J. Sakall(Karl, the waiter/bartender in "Casablanca")

The Coens are great.

That's why they get hired to work on other directors' films, especially with dialogue.

One was good enough for me, honestly...

Loss of Rob Reiner

A horrible human tragedy, regardless of politics.

Also a loss to American filmmaking-

quite a variety:

"The Princess Bride"

"Stand by Me"

"When Harry Met Sally"

"Misery"

"This is Spinal Tap"

Kubrick's body of work is more impressive, but I enjoy Nolan's films...

The definition of "liberal" on this board is pretty damned broad, especially if you're not overly pissed off about the right things...

Rubio: "global censorship-industrial complex" :bwahaha:

I doubt this term will take root in the American lexicon, but I've seen some in the current Right that are equally silly.

Wow, you mean he's entitled to his opinion? Most of us would agree about illegal immigration...
Epstein was everywhere and with everybody. It’s not clear that he had a lot of sway in government on his own, but who knows?

He’s looked pretty damned good coming off the bench. If we keep having success, it won’t be as easy to pull the trigger…
In the beginning Willie looked like the real deal, but it sure didn’t turn out that way. It seems the team lost onfidence in him. He seemed like a good guy, though.
The team looks a lot different with him. I
think he needs to be permanent..

re: What’s up with Missi

Most people, myself include, thought Missi was going to be a valuable piece.
Are you in favor of war with Venezuela?

It's not likely to be quick and easy, and what do you propose we do after it's over? Just leave a bombed out country with a power vacuum?
Probably China, but mainly because Putin has managed to galvanize
Western Europe, and they have upped their game...
