How about the Muslim call to prayer being played over the loudspeaker during the day?

Loudspeaker? I think they should have to build a full minaret and blast it from there.

Louisiana’s action

You understand that Louisiana's government is constrained by the exact same constitutional principles that restrict the federal government from doing things like this, right?

Then Louisiana’s action will be challenged and we will see where that ends.

Correct. Pointless pandering. How does this improve businesses, our tax rate, high insurance rates, depleted roads, or make our schools better?

Start tackling real issues.

This will help the state, just as much as taking down statues helped New Orleans.

As a Christian im glad but its number 10,573 on the list of priorities in this state including public schools. Who gives a shite if the ten commandments are displayed if we have high school freshmen that cant read them.

They should fix the wording of 'Thou shalt not kill.' It's a bad translation of ancient text that actually said 'Thou shalt not murder.'

Federal courts slapping the AG's office around and making the State look like fools.

I'm just glad that the governor's office and legislature are tackling the important issues that truly matter. It would suck if they did nothing but pander to the lowest common denominator.

The Ten Commandments are not about any particular religion.

There’s so many problems the state needs to address. This isn’t one of them.

Literally, Commandment 1 is “I am the Lord your God. You will have no other Gods before me.”

Seems pretty specific to monotheistic religions of the Abrahamic variety.

You shall have no other gods before Me.

Id genuinely like to hear your argument as to how the 10 Commandments are not about any particular religion considering the origin of the text and the God that is referred to in the commandments.

or the founding fathers

“Separation of church and state” isn’t in the Constitution. Only that the US Congress can’t establish a national religion. The interpretation of the religion part of the 1st amendment has been completely bastardized.

“Separation of church and state” is the same kind of interpretation the left wants to use to get rid of the 2nd amendment. You can either follow the Constitution based on what’s in it or make up stuff to fit your agenda.

True but by putting the 10 commandments (a christian doctrine) up it would be preventing the free exercise of non-christian religions.

Also I dont want the state/schools teaching my kid anything about any religion

This will have the Satanic Church frothing at the mouth to have statues of Moloch placed on every school campus.

And they'll probably get their way.

I have not ever looked at the Ten Commandments and felt I must be of a particular religious sect. I see them as a fantastic set of ethics or rules for human interaction. Of course they conflict with gooooooooooooooberment for goooooooooooooooooberment wants no other before it.

If I remember correctly, God replied, "I am" to Job when Job asked, "Who are you"?

I am who I am. Who are you?
