This is why reasonable people don’t take conservatives seriously.
This law is the very definition of indoctrination and government overreach.

This is a statement no reasonable person would make. Only a complete partisan hack.

Fixing the real problems down there I see. This should propel Louisiana out of shithole status that it currently resides in.

Just yesterday I was lambasted for saying bible thumpers were a huge problem with Louisiana. Then today, this.

I remember Roy Moore creating a huge shitshow in Alabama with the 10 commandments in the courthouse.

We are very aware of your ignorant pride in your bigotry.

This is so dumb. They'll be lucky if this doesn't lose at SCOTUS 9-0.

I can feel our graduation rate increasing already!

Guess where the following quote is from.

Agree, but look at it this way. At least we appear to be getting these obvious Louisiana conservative voter winning issues out the way early.
Concealed carry. Ten Commandments in schools. Making it illegal for ILLEGAL immigrants to drive in Louisiana. Clarifying that Louisiana shall not discriminate against gasoline vehicles. All that sort of easy stuff.
Once it’s out the way, then I’ll be time to spend the next three years doing something REAL, like budget reform, tax reform, making a real attempt to address legacy lawsuits within the O&G industry, government structure and funding reform…things that Landry didn’t seem too interested in when campaigning, but needs to be done.

Writ denied. The middle district and fifth circuit will hammer this.

I don't agree with this, but what do you expect? The democrats have pushed us so far left that just trying to move them to the middle will not work. The pendulum has to swing far right so that we can end up in the middle when the dust is settled.
Republicans are generally useless, so it's nice to see them fight back even if they are a bit overzealous. I'm not going to get upset, because now is not the time for small changes. We need immediate, strong reactions to the democrats before the country is completely lost. It's too late for timidity.
At the very least, we need to show the democrats we are willing to fight as much as they are. It can also be used in a negotiation. Start out with an extreme offer so you have more negotiating room to get what you want in a compromise. Too many Republicans seem oblivious to this and still think we can defeat evil through playing by the rules and strictly adhering to "principles" even when it's clearly a losing strategy.

All of which are just pandering nonsense issues that have no practical application to anyone’s daily life in Louisiana.

Oh got it. AFTER this year, they’ll start actually governing. Mmk.

In Stone v. Graham it was a 5-4 decision and that was with a more liberal SC than todays.

The Ten Commandments are the basis of all laws in Louisiana,
What a waste of time. I’d rather focus on academic performance rather than interior decor.

I didn’t say they would. But if they’re going to get all this national attention red meat crap out the way first, then no excuses the following sessions. Gov Landry needs to be a real reform Governor for Louisiana, rather than the Republican version of JBE/Huey Long that many of us suspected he’ll likely be.
I want my doubts to be proven wrong. Don’t see any real signs of it yet, though.

This is idiotic. Keep FORCED religion out of schools. Let the kids say prayers and do what they want but to have a LAW stating that every classroom needs to display a religious belief is idiotic.
I gotta agree and I'm all for the Ten Commandments in my personal life.
