But what you are saying is also correct, by saying those who it's for those who all believe in the same specific god despite not being part of the same specific religion

He said that he didn't see the 10 Commandments as being specific to any religion. He didnt mention sects of Christianity just religion. That is absurd imo but I was trying to understand his perspective

correct, but for the common person, if you ask them "what religion" they are, most will say Catholic, or Baptist, etc.
But even saying Christianity doesn't encompass all religions that follow the Commandments.
Judaism is not a Christian sect, but still follow them.

hell, even the Quran mentions the commandments.

so he's correct in saying that they are not for any one specific religion.

Please help me out here. Which religion is being promoted by the Ten Commandments? I really need to know for I do not see a religion mentioned in the Ten Commandments.

So if there is no display of the Ten Commandments is the goooooooooooooberment promoting the religion of atheism?

Judaism or Christianity.

If there was a law that was enacted by the state legislature requiring that a Fatiha from the Quran to be placed in every public school or any school that received public funding, the same unconstitutionality would apply.

No. It's staying within its bounds of not prohibiting free exercise (meaning that you can choose to be Christian, Buddhist, Jewish) or ...

... wait for it...

... just a little bit longer ...

... not have a religious belief at all.

Dodie Horton also got something similar to this passed last year. It required all public schools to display “In God We Trust” in every class room. They only specifications were that the signs had to be donated and that they had to be a certain size.

A man in Florida decided to design a bunch of these & donate them to Louisiana schools except he designed them in different languages like Hebrew, Arabic and had atheist symbols, the Star of David on some, rainbow backgrounds on others.

Weren't they Christians who formulated our Constitution and entire governing system based on biblical principles?

Sure. They made a law that all had to follow Christianity. There will be no blasphemy and no taken the name of the Lord thy god in vain. It’s the law that young virgins may be raped so as long as you pay the father the bride price. We must kill all adulterers, stone rebellious kids, and stone queers and witches. I think there’s a law stating we can’t cook a young goat in its mother’s milk, and that clothing cannot be made of mixed fibers, and that you can’t touch anything a menstruating woman has touched within 24 hours. Our founding fathers set up a theocracy based on a divinely annointed king! Makes sense!

Instead of trying to destroy the first amendment, Louisiana would be better off actually upholding the constitution and challenging the feds’ infringements of the second amendment. Idiots.

Seems unfair.

I know alot of Jews, Muslims, and agnostic/atheists in Baton Rouge.

Their kids go to public schools.

I can imagine being upset if my children had to look at something from the Koran everyday.

Excellent!

It will be doing what it was intended to do, not forcing people to participate in a religion.

Amazing how many fudge packers and child molesters we have in this thread.

Yeah, another non-existent problem solved. Pure performance art! lPossibly unconstitutional, depending on its application.

Madison actually said this isn’t a “Christian nation”, nor affiliated with any religion.
