You are certain that no one read the amendments and disagreed with them?
I didn't say "no one." A significant portion, if not a slight majority, probably did not read or understand them or care enough to dig into the pros and cons.

If voters trusted the government, they’d vote yes of things they didn’t understand.

IMO another poster nailed the reason why so many of these measures tied to city entities and maintenance, schools, roads fail...

Because people who are doing the daily commute to a downtown office or are on the road for work trips are constantly reminded: I keep paying all these property taxes, state taxes, federal taxes....and the roads are shite, the schools or some city government entity is screaming about needing more money.

People get pissed. I may not agree with some things getting voted down, but I understand.

The Dems were against all the Ammendments to go against Landry lots of left wing national money GOP turnout was not enough to overcome and conservative voters are generally reluctant to support Ammendments

Agreed.

It’s ironic that a decade ago the Tea Party railed against government and the swamp and how it can’t be trusted and needs to be downsized or drained.

Fast forward a decade and those republicans take over and are surprised that people don’t trust the government…because those same republicans can’t understand that they are the government now.

Not sure where they go from here.

Actually jimmy teachers were willing to sacrifice a short term Meager increase to protect the funds for our students and the most vulnerable population. The amendment did not address legally how those programs would be funded and after this one time pay raise equal to about 50 bucks a check after taxes had no way of keeping it going. Too many districts would just take it out of their own general expenses and keep pay the same despite what the amendment proposed. In addition as others have pointed out, the casino dollars were suppose to go to education but our lovely government lied about that as well.

You are so desperate for attention that you start this drivel?

Is is the same message they sent to Cassidy? New Orleans is so out of touch with the rest of the state that they lost a clerk of court, a NeverTrumper Senator, a 2nd black district, football and basketball coaches, an AD, Carville sporting LSU gear, and took out a payday loan to run the city

The amendments were all deceptively worded and confusing. Louisiana voters have seen this kind of trickery before. They will vote no unless there is clear disclosure and an actual need.

Yes, but that was only one of several factors.

Voters didn’t vote to remove Landry from a ballot so no, not the same message.

A message?

He just elected a new US Senator by toppling a sitting incumbent.
Maybe he sent a message.

And no, no one is beating him next year.

this was from six months ago

quote:

-Gov. Jeff Landry’s statewide approval sits at 39% favorable versus 51% unfavorable in October 2025 polling

-Even in Lafayette, Landry’s home region, the governor is underwater with 45% favorable and 51% unfavorable ratings

-Landry’s “very favorable” rating dropped 6 points statewide since the previous poll, while “very unfavorable” increased 8 points

-Only Monroe showed majority favorable ratings for the governor at 57%, while New Orleans and Baton Rouge registered just 34% favorable

-The poll reveals that Louisiana voters view the state heading in the wrong direction by a 54-26% margin

State was gonna raid the retirement fund to give current teachers a nice little raise while giving retired teachers nothing. Doesn’t seem fair to those teachers who paid into the system for 30-40 years and have just a little pension to live on.

I know youre slow on the uptake, but I was I was referring to the fact that Cassidy support came mainly for the NO area

No. Not at all. because you post exactly like SFP. Constantly replying to every single post, so that you can fantasize about how important your thoughts are

Theyre not. People are mostly amazed at the thought processes that come to conclusions like in your OP

So teachers were against doubling the funding locally.

Pure lunacy.

So retirees were going to have their retirement cut?

Could their overwhelming rejection of more amendments symbolize a rejection of Landry?

I agree… this is all on Landry energizing the “NO” turnout. 1, 2, and 4 would have passed under previous governors, but the blowback from attempted redistricting, and the feud with Calvin Duncan did them in

No. This state is loaded with dim bulbs on both sides who can't comprehend the amendments and don't bother to put in the work to research the pros and cons. As a result they vote a blanket "No."

I think the majority of people in Louisiana do not TRUST the people who occupy the state capitol and thus the proposed amendments. Remember amendment 2 from 2025 with all the many different items crammed in it? Perfect example of not trusting them is the vehicle inspection tags. Rather than just eliminate the inspection tags, they decided a QR code sticker is somehow needed. Take a poll and see who is in favor of these QR stickers.
