To be fair though, those who write the amendment language have earned their lack of trust. I just wish people took the time to research. Info has never been more available

The raise was $250 not $2,250 as there had been a $2,000 bonus for several years that this would replace.
The state saves $200 million a year, while districts are neutral

Short answer is yes. They are sending Landry a message, but he's too much of an idiot to listen. When you're 0-9 on amendments to the state constitution, then there should be some red flags that are going up, especially one year before you're up for re-election.
Each of these amendments received a resounding defeat at the polls, and it's no different than the result from the the election on amendments last year. All failed.

People don’t trust the amendments and wording. Not sure it was much to do with Landry. Now IF Fleming beats Letlow THAT would be a message to Landry. Odds for that are long.

The teachers
The district saves X in interest payments, and is required to spend X on salary.
Neutral.
The teachers receive, gross, an additional $250. If they get paid 24x per year, about $10 gross per check.

This seems vague to me.
You are stating it as 100% of the savings must be used for pay raises.
Unless otherwise stated, why can it not be a portion of the money saved?

The savings must be used for a pay raise, BUT:
1. If there isn’t enough savings the state will make up the gap. This will mostly happen with charter schools.
2. If the savings are more than the cost of a pay raise, the school districts can use the savings for other things.
