They’re supposed to earn over half that in the weekends?

Now my boss hires someone right out of highschool and they make $8/hr. Next week when the minimum wage increases, he now makes $15/hr.

Should I not get an increase in pay?

Name a full time minimum wage job that you don’t get a raise within the first 6 months.

Get the skills necessary to get a job that one can work all week for and earn a living.

So I do have to spell it out.

This isn’t about making everyone rich.

It’s about getting people to a minimum level of income to provide some basic stability.

100 an hour is 208k a year. That’s not just stability that’s wealth.

I make way Less than than that and I have A 401k, house, car note, extra savings. Hobbies. I can afford childcare.

When you come to the realization that what you say is in jest (partially) you will find that it is not all that outrageous.

You think wrong on money. It has not been that way for 25 years.

There's not going to be any more stability. The person already making 31k will want 45k & the person making 45k will want 60k and on and on until the people making minimum wage are no better off than they were before bc the price of everything had gone up.

Do you really not understand this concept?

Not really. You just said why $15 was a good amount. If there’s a problem with increasing the minimum wage more than $15/hr, what would it be?

Then where does it stop? Because now EVERYONE's cost of living is going up. So now your $31k "living wage" is really $45k and you are still stuck making $31k. So we should really make it $22/hr. But the problem with that is who can afford to pay ALL their workers $22/hr and keep the cost of goods the same price? It is an endless cycle.

Where do we stop?

I am Not saying they won’t want more

Don’t we all?

I am Saying you have more financial stability with 31k than 15k

Excellent question.

Dems/leftists have always had problems with numbers.

Ask them “what is the latest month of pregnancy that you can legally kill a baby?”

Ask them “what percentage of their income should the federal government be allowed to take from them”

31k

But now with everyone working making over $31k, who is going to bear the cost of that? You think business owners are going to want to take the hit? Nah we don't need to make $100M profit anymore, we will take $20M.

Think about the that owns a lawncare company. He pays 2 guys $10/hr to cut yards. They can do 1 per hour so cost $20/yard. Each yard is $40, so he pulls in $20 before gas, repairs, etc. In the end it comes out to $11 profit per yard.

Now he will only pull in $10 if he keeps both workers for $1 profit.

What does he do? Increase the price to $50/yard or cut one of his guys.

Everyone should have UBI, so kind of, yeah. We're going to see UBI and the 20 hour work week soon. There's no avoiding it.

Yes we need UBI so that everyone can just smoke weed and focus on their “art.”

We also need UBI so that the only factor that matters when choosing our politicians is how much they promise to increase the UBI. “My opponents only want to increase the UBI by 3%, I’ll increase it by 5%!”

UBI is dumb and will lead to the economy/society collapsing, much like the welfare state has wrecked entire generations of people. People who think that humans will all be obsolete are the same people who thought the patent office should be in the 1700s because we had already invented everything.

No you won't.

If you're an asst manager at a grocery store making $15/hr & the kid stocking shelves goes from $8/hr to $15/hr, what the hell is the point of you being asst manager if you're only making minimum wage?

If you quit, how is the store going to hire another asst manager if they're making the same as everyone else? You either require a raise or find something else. Once this scenario plays out nationwide, no one is going to be better off in the long run.

So you anticipate people just quitting their jobs.
