I gave you the construction industry example above. $15 for that burger flipper will increase ALL COSTS for any industry that relies on skilled/unskilled labor. Do you think the janitor has more or less stress than the asst. manager? Again, you aren't even talking reality in your posts it's. "well i wouldn't care if that was me", no one cares about your idiotic thoughts or opinions on things. We are discussing facts, not some leftist opinion who simply wants to be paid $15 to flip burgers and doesn't know or care how that affects the economy. If you don't know, nor care about such things, then maybe having this discussion is not suitable for you?

If someone works their way up from minimum wage ($7.50/hr) and makes $15/hr now as asst. manager, is it fair now to bump those who did not earn their way to $15/hr? I would say that asst. manager will either take his skills where they are compensated, or give up and become the janitor because their output doesn't drive profits.

“Teachers”
Teachers go to college, get a degree and still choose to teach. Do you know how much a Waffle House manager makes? Yet how many teachers quit to work their way up the Waffle House chain?

Interesting, considering teachers have tenure and become immune from termination if they work in public education. I'd also wager teacher benefits are higher than waffle house manager. Hours are also better, and their $/hr are likely higher considering teachers don't work 3-4 months out of the year. Not to mention the perk of not having to work with the general public, as opposed to waffle house.

Public ed teachers/professors. The comparison was to someone managing a waffle house. I contend working 7-4 is better than the 8pm -5 am shift. Also, waffle house managers don't have months off. And teachers do not have to interact with the waffle house crowd daily.
