re: Looks like no LSU visit for Arch - boxcar willie
I think it is going to come down to Manning or Holstein for the QB in the 2023 class. Still to early to call it with plenty more football to play before that decision has to be made. Wouldn't be surprised though to see Holstein beat him out....

re: Any chance the Saints try to grab Jimmy Garoppolo after 2021? - boxcar willie
after watching Ian Books highlights, and his every play against Clemson, I think our future QB might already be on the team. If he was 6'3" he would have been a first round pick for some team. Book just might be the most talented QB on this Saints team (definitely better, at QB, than Taysom Hill) r...

re: Can Dims be Christians? - boxcar willie
probably couldn't be a "born again" type Christian, but I don't see why you couldn't be a regular Christian. Caring about your fellow man is a Christian principal. Being self centered and only caring about yourself is not a regular Christian principal....

re: Mel Kiper gives us 2nd lowest grade in the draft - boxcar willie
And a jump from 28 to 10...can’t imagine what that would have cost us.
surprised the saints didn't give up this years and next years 1st and 2nd picks in order to move up. When they have their eye on a player they really want, like with Davenport and Ingrahm, they will give up wh...

re: Mel Kiper gives us 2nd lowest grade in the draft - boxcar willie
pretty solid analysis. Turner, at that point the draft, was a flat out dumb pick. Could have traded back and got more picks and still got Turner, if that's who they really wanted. If we are going to just draft blindly on these kind of longshots it would have better to keep all our picks, STOP WITH T...

re: Rd 7 - Pick 255 - Kawaan Baker / WR / South Alabama - boxcar willie
could have taken players like Racy McMath at WR, who has much more upside than Kawaan Baker, and Jacoby Stephens at S, and Tyler Shelvin on the DL if we wouldn't have traded away so many draft picks just to move up to draft players who themselves are long shots anyway. Those 3 long shots are much be...

re: Do you think LSU football players care about LSU or are they just concerned about the NFL? - boxcar willie
I think they care more about the tradition of being an ex-LSU football player and the bond that gives them with other ex-LSU players in the pros more so than they care about LSU the university. Seems to be that way for most players from most football programs. Like when ex Ohio St players come on ...

re: Anyone think JW or DS will be better than Marshall ? - boxcar willie
I am biased. I admit it
yep, definitely wearing your purple and gold glasses with that statement. Waddle and Smith are both lightning quick and Smith also brings great pure WR skills. Marshall for some reason, just doesn't get good separation and seems to be lacking some intangible. ...

re: Choosing Ja'Marr Chase over DeVonta Smith should be a crime - boxcar willie
so there have been two wr's in modern NFL history that almost fit Smiths profile yet both were much more compact players. Desean Jackson 5' 9 3/4" 169lbs Marquise Brown 5' 9 1/2" 166lbs Devonta Smith 6' 0" 166lbs There is a difference. Devonta Smith is a bean pole. Smith will be the...

re: why do NFL teams fall in love with guys like Mac Jones? - boxcar willie
Mac might be slightly less athletic then the other 1st rd QB prospects (but still good enough athlete to be a USTA 4.5-5.0 level tennis junior ranked player apparently, which is good enough to be a low level D1 player ), but he is elite at skills that predict success at the NFL level : readin...

re: Choosing Ja'Marr Chase over DeVonta Smith should be a crime - boxcar willie
That was hand timed.
yes
An actual laser time would be 4.5-4.6
not likely. Plenty of film of Chase outracing supposedly fast CB's to the end zone. Justin Jefferson ran a 4.43 laser at the combine and Chase looked to be the fastest player on the field in every...
6’1 and running a 4.5-4.6 isn’t exactly perfect wide receiver material
wrong, try 6' 208 lbs running a 4.38 40ty who catches every ball thrown in his direction and is strong enough to shake off tacklers after the catch....

re: Choosing Ja'Marr Chase over DeVonta Smith should be a crime - boxcar willie
here is more of a chance being taken on Chase than Smith
no way, there has never been a 166 lb WR who has made an impact in the NFL since the 1940's. Devonta Smith is a much more risky pick. Both players being fairly equal in all other aspects, why take a risk on the 166 lb WR verse ...
