re: Kash went snorkeling around the USS Arizona

What exactly gives you the impression that he didn't?!?! Even if he didn't intend to, it is terrible PR and a terrible look. How it's perceived DOES matter!

The WH is not the mass grave of hundreds of military members who served with honor! There is absolutely no comparison.

NO! There are many other ways to show respect other than going snorkeling in his swim trunks or whatever other snorkeling attire he was wearing.
He's Indian, he could have thrown flower petals or done one of the other Indian rituals that are associated with funerals and memorials. He could have launched lit lanterns. Whatever...... It is NOT a recreational spot, and I hope it never becomes one.

It's plain disrespectful! If you've ever been to Pearl Harbor you know just what a sacred place the Arizona Memorial is, how hushed everyone gets when they are there looking down at the mass grave for hundreds of US military members.
Treating it like a sporting park gives off all the wrong vibes and is unseemly!
Hawaii has tons of other, more appropriate spots for snorkeling!
What's next, a dance party at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific? Ugh!

You couldn't be more wrong.
The UK is a constitutional monarchy and its role is purely ceremonial. Power is held by Parliament whose House of Commons is by far the more powerful chamber. All members of the House of Commons are elected.
When the monarch gives the speech at the opening of Parliament, he reads a speech prepared by the government.

Trump ally Nigel Farage deals major blow to Starmer in local UK elections

Increasing calls for Starmer's resignation. Go Britannia, more good news after the great news in VA!

The United Kingdom’s ruling Labour Party is on track to suffer a major defeat in Thursday’s local elections as Nigel Farage’s right-wing Reform UK surges in support, prompting calls for Prime Minister Keir Starmer to resign.
British local elections are widely viewed as a functional referendum on the popularity of the ruling party and its head. With Labour having already suffered a net loss of nearly 500 local council seats with just over half of the councils called, multiple Labour MPs are saying that Starmer must agree to a timeline for his exit from office.
"Many, many Labour voters that I represent, I guess, in the north of England and elsewhere that the direction the government [has] taken has not delivered the change that they thought they voted for," Labour MP Jon Trickett said of the results. "They’re angry, they’re upset, they feel let down, they’ve sent us a clear message: The party, the leadership, must change with immediate effect if we want to recover."
Reform UK, which has seen a net increase of about 650 seats as of writing, picked up considerable ground in post-industrial parts of northern and central England. Many of those seats are described as part of the country’s "Red Wall," a mass of constituencies that have historically supported the Labour Party.

I wonder why she feels like she's even entitled to 'benefits.' What exactly has she done to earn them benefits?!?!
She doesn't have money to buy her own crap, but she has money for that mega ink on her. And the fake lashes. And the witch nails.
Tough cookies, loser!

State Supreme Court says MoCo, Maryland overstepped with gun restrictions

The Supreme Court of Maryland has found Montgomery County does not have the authority under state law to prohibit wear-and-carry permit holders from bringing guns within 100 yards of certain public places, according to an April 28 opinion.
The case before the state’s highest court, Engage Armament LLC, et al. v. Montgomery County, Maryland, centered on a series of county law changes aimed at cracking down on gun violence. It now heads back to the Montgomery County Circuit Court in Rockville for further proceedings in accordance with the state Supreme Court’s opinion.
Mark Pennak, president and counsel for the gun rights group Maryland Shall Issue, told Bethesda Today in a Friday interview that the county law changes at issue in the case created thousands of de-facto gun-free zones that “basically made it impossible to carry in the county, because you couldn’t move around with a firearm.”
“The county has been given authority to do some of that, but they went and way overstepped it, as the court held,” said Pennak, who represented the lead plaintiff before the Maryland Supreme Court. “We regard the opinion basically as a win.”
Pennak said he is also aware of multiple cases pending in federal court through which the U.S. Supreme Court could elaborate on the “sensitive places” issue, including one challenging Maryland’s list of sensitive places as unconstitutional.
“There’s a lot of overlap between the state law and the county law. It’s not the same, but there’s overlap,” Pennak said. “So it makes sense to wait until this gets all sorted out.”

re: Why was the Union Jack flag flown upside down during the kings visit?
Posted by conservativewifeymom on 5/5/26 at 5:27 pm to Ailsa
Camilla returned to the UK by herself because she really dislikes flying and it was never planned for her to continue to Bermuda. She wants to minimize the amount of flying as much as possible.
As for the Union Jack, I learned something new today. I'm quite certain I would not have been able to tell if it was upside down or right side up until now (maybe).

There are some superb sayings coming out of this presser:
1. 'insane in the brain' (not that you could be insane elsewhere)
2. 'the only thing worse than a communist is an incompetent communist' (having been born in a commie country, I didn't realize there were ANY competent communists)
And he has a great sense of humor (some of you have red Xs over yourselves on my map). :rotflmao:

Taxpayer-funded TX waterpark announces 'Muslim only' day featuring modest dress and Halal

A taxpayer-funded Texas waterpark has sparked backlash by organizing a Muslim-only day to celebrate Eid.
Epic Waters in Grand Prairie, Texas drew outrage this week as it released fliers for the June 1 event, which will demand a 'modest dress code' and serve only Halal-slaughtered meat.
Posters for the event say it will be 'for Muslims only' to create a 'family-friendly environment', with tickets starting at $55 each.
The waterpark's website notes that men and women will not be separated during the event, but attendees are told to 'uphold Islamic etiquette' by 'lowering the gaze' throughout the day.
'Please follow the event’s modest dress code, and practice ?aya? (modesty) through respectful behavior,' the event says.
All attendees are 'expected to dress in accordance with Islamic values', and the waterpark says all swimwear must meet Muslim guidelines.
Can any of you imagine a Christians-only event at said park?!?! Me neither. And how exactly will they identify Muslims?!?! What if I choose to 'identify' as Muslim that day and wear my most revealing outfit?!?! This cannot stand.
