Why is it a shrug? Tuberville is solidly conservative. Jones is solidly leftist.

Seems like an easy choice depending on which policies you support.

That's only if you strictly go by policies.

Tuberville is definitely MAGA. Not sure how conservative he is.

But lt's say for the sake of argument that he is actually conservative. There are still several problems with voting for him beyond policy.

He voted in a Floria election as a citizen of that state AFTER declaring on his income taxes that he had moved back to Alabama.

The timing is such that if he really was a resident of Florida at that time, he's not eligible for election in Alabama in this election (you have to be an Alabama resident for seven consecutive years to be eligible). On the other hand, if he was a resident of Alabama at the time, he committed voter fraud by voting in a Florida election for which he was not eligible to vote.

So if you say you are against voter fraud but vote for Tuberville, you're participating in voter fraud either way. In other words, you're being a raging hypocrite.

Problem number two is his character. In addition to being involved in a fraudulent hedge fund venture that ended up sending his business partner to prison in his private life, Tuberville has been identified as one of the most egregious insider traders in Congress, specifically with regard to trading on companies that he has Congressional oversight over in committees that he is part of.

So a vote for Tuberville is a vote for exactly the kind of elitist-crook-using-government-position-for-profit a-holes that this board seethes over. So again, if you don't like those Ruling Class types who are there just to get rich, a vote for Tuberville is an admission of raging hypocrisy.

Third, I'm pissed off at the Republican Party of Alabama for putting me in the position of having to decide whether to vote for a guy who isn't eligible to run. And they did it TWICE in this election because the R candidate for Lieutenant Governor did the same thing. Was registered to vote in Tennessee as late as 2023. He's not eligible for office either.

And both of these were challenged and the party upheld both of them.

So they earned a frick You from me. I voted straight Democrat ticket, which I have never done in my whole life.

(Relax...none of them are actually going to win.)

So you’d rather hold a state hostage for 4 solid years while nothing is accomplished? You don’t see the damage that would do to the state? You’d rather have to continually override a Doug Jones veto via the legislature to get anything done? The knots you morons tie yourselves into is just fricking wild to me. Let’s grind the entire state to a halt for 4 years so asshats like you can have a fricking hill to die on.

That is your perogative to vote for fricking retarded arse clowns like tubbs. the mental gymnastics you must be going through to actually support such a terrible governors candidate is mind blowing. Bring the national guard in on day 1 and welcome all data centers with no guardrails is a hell of a campaign to run on.

The best thing that couple possibly happen is Jones winning and the Alabama GOP waking the frick up. They can frick off with their shitty candidates like Tubbs and Roy Moore. I hoped they learned their lesson after that fiasco but alas, here we are.

My position exactly.

I'm not o.k. with voter fraud.

Even if it's my "team" perpetuating the fraud.

If you are, I guess that's between you and your God.

Before populism took over the right, we used to laugh at the left for falling in lockstep, bootlicking line behind whoever the Democrats put up to run or defending whatever they did.

Now with the right having succumbed to populism, it's just as bad as the left ever was.

No you dumb frick, I’m a realist. People like you are the very worst kind of Republican voter. You care more about grandstanding and nailing yourselves to the cross every single election cycle. You’re no different than the Republican members of Congress who turn every opportunity to move an agenda forward into a shite show that involves stomping your feet and throwing in with dems to kill it all because you didn’t get your way. Then you have the fricking nerve to complain about nothing getting accomplished.

Go vote for Doug Jones and while you’re at it, vote for every other fricking dem on the ballot and stfu.

Holy melt! How’s that leather tasting about right now? Enjoy your lock step populist vote for tubbs since you obviously don’t care about anything but the R next to the name. I can’t imagine being this mad because somebody said they were going to vote for Doug jones and red down the rest of the way down.

Jones and Tuberville are both useless drones.

It could be easily proven that Tuberville doesn't live in Alabama and isn't eligible. But that lawsuit was never going anywhere in Alabama, at least not in time for the election, and after he's elected, there is no relief for the plaintiffs.

Alabama republicans have proven to have very little backbone. They just bend over and take whatever crappy candidate the party puts before them. Kay Ivey- sure why not? Tuberville- yeah, who cares about the insider trading and the promise to donate his salary to vets which he’s never done. The party puts up crap candidates because they know how easy their voter base is to woo.

Complete nonsense. Doug Jones wants to bring the trans Muslim DEI policies to Alabama. Tuberville wants to make Alabama one of the best states in the entire nation.

It will be closer than one thinks.
Huntsville, AL, with all the Yankee transfers, is turning the area purple. B’ham and Mobile…. Both purple?

Anyone who votes for Doug E Notsofresh is a moron. He’s a bald white Kamala Harris. But he’s trying real hard to market himself as a blue dog “moderate” democrat. It might work with the suburban wine moms. But there’s no way in hell he gets my vote.

Yes but I wouldn’t call it controversial when his opponent was an actual pedophile.

Oh you believed the New York Times bullshite lie. BTW, you also need to learn the definition of “pedophile.”
It’s a adult, sexually attracted to PREPUBESCENT children. Roy Moore allegedly went on a date with a 17 year old when he was 28. A little young, yes but not something to qualify him as a pedophile.
A pedophile would never be attracted to a 17 year old unless she looked younger. Like 10 or 12.

I can't stand either one. One of the most "hold your nose" votes I've made in a long time.
