1) Incredible media exposure. Massive and free publicity at the exact right time.

2) Everyone, even non-sports fans, are talking about the NBA.

3) Now there is a feel good story to watch as the Clippers continue to play well despite adversity.

4) Bylaws will more than likely be amended to make it easier for NBA to punish owners.

Win/win for NBA

Meh. I don't really see how people talking about what a racist piece of shite Donald Sterling is, is great publicity for the NBA. A lot of people might be talking about the situation, but that doesn't mean they give any shite about the NBA. They are just discussing that douchebag old man.

Nobody is going to watch more NBA games long term because they got rid of an old racist a-hole that should have been banned a decade ago.

They will watch more games based on the fact that the quality of play in the first round has been incredible, which is currently being overshadowed.

The owners will amend the bylaws to make it easier to punish themselves?

This is crazy....I don't agree with what the man said and it is obvious that he is a racist bigot...general bad human being.

BUT....should a man not have a reasonable expectation of privacy in his own home? Also, why should what I say within this reasonable expectation of privacy cause me to be forced to divest of a hugely expensive and profitable asset?

I just think that part of this is a rocky road. Ban him from the NBA sure.....Make someone else be the "owner" in name sure.....I'm just not sure he can be, or should be, forced to sell the team.

People are really making this guy out to be like he is the victim. This old buzzard bought the Clippers for 12.5 million. He is going to make like $700 million on the sale of the team.

Bro, do you even marketing?

Throw this story and the NBAs handling of it on top of what has been a hisorically riveting first round of the playoffs, and the publicity is through the damn roof.

God man the clippers and their adversity.

Wiping their tears away with hundred dollar bills and blowing their noses in twenties.

Bunch of martyrs those guys are.

Just like getting nailed to a cross.

You are wrong. My wife HATES basketball. After watching CNN's coverage of this story, she wanted to watch the Clippers game last night for no other reason than intrigue.

Everyone at work is talking about it as well, and a few women who supposedly hate basketball watched their first NBA playoff game ever last evening.

That's because a business he's owned for 30 years is being forcefully taken from him.

What it sells for is irrelevant.

So you've never heard of Crisis Management and how to create positive publicity from a crisis?

Do you believe that Target's mass compromise hurt the company? If so, you're wrong. Upon learning of the compromise of millions of Target customer's account information, they immediately hired a Crisis Management consulting firm based in Washington D.C. to create an emergency plan of action and public response.

Regardless of massive reporting of the compromise, Target's stock went up. Why?
