Belgium as just better, I think the red card bullshite also fueled them.

Top 10 team in the world.

Tip your hat.

I don't disagree with this, but it was a piss poor effort in our part as well. Lots of shitty passing, zero fight on 50/50 balls, and hardly anyone played hard. I think it was the second goal but maybe the first, we had guys everywhere around them and the shot was hardly contested. We played risky passes all night and acted shocked and didn't fight when they weren't perfect.

Lets not forget that Belgium benched 3 of their veteran starters and it worked out perfectly for them

Doku has been bad and KDB is a shell of his former self. It was 100% the right call.

Pep would take England before the US. His fingerprints were all over that squad for such a long time.

5 years ago I'd argue Pep would be a disaster with the USMNT but his system changed a good bit so maybe? We need more talent in the back though. Not just GK but you need defenders that can do more than clear the ball.

Even then, I honestly think he's done for a bit. He isn't the same guy anymore. After the treble season he morphed into philosophical old man. IF he takes an international job I think his first choice is England.

CP is a lot like Donovan to me. They just don’t have the personality and toughness to be a captain just happen to be the most talented player on the team.

People will shite talk him, but Donovan had Bradley behind him for most of that run and Bradley was a boss on the field. He was an absolute dog in the midfield and I can't remember many times he got out worked.

Pulisic doesn't have that. I'd still argue Donovan has a better mentality than CP though. Donovan might not have been that vocal guy but he didn't have to be.

Balogun didn't play bad but he should have had a goal or two

That's honestly debatable. Bad? No, but we never really looked threatening.

It almost felt like the American mentality out there was that they didn’t deserve to be there after the Balogun story became the centerpiece and automatically felt like their place was fraudulent.

I've never seen a US team play with a tighter a-hole than tonight. I've seen them get beat. I've seen them take arse whoopings. I've seen them play bad.

But I've never seen them play this far off their level. Maybe 2-3 guys looked up for it tonight. The rest looked like a Chinese fire drill for 90 minutes.

Spain hasn't looked all that great

Belgium haven't been wordlbeaters themselves outside of tonight.

England should win but I'll never bet against Haaland.

Mexico missed the equalizer by about an inch

Stones missed it.
That was the most entertaining match of the cup so far. Proper CONCACAF match.
Haaland on Gabriel's bitch arse lmao

Is he angry or does he just have more time given no postseason interference?

Seems like a bit of both from his interviews postseason. He mentioned losing a couple guys last season because they were playing WVU in supers and had to game plan rather than recruit while they were in town. He 100% blamed himself. The calendar sucks with the way they have portal, postseason, and draft all sorta crammed in close together.

that were called offside on the field then let the play stand as off. The fact that it wasn’t called off and it was a 50/50 call the goal should count.

That's where I am. Same with the Balogun call. Use VAR for what's called, not to pull one out your arse after the fact.
My thought with VAR has always been that if there's a big call, review it. If the official doesn't call it, don't VAR it. There are some exceptions like offside (which I also hate. Draw a line at their feet and rule) but other than that just back up the officials.

Last night in real time, that was just the game. There were multiple other moments there could have, maybe should have been a card but they picked that one. Should've never gone to VAR if the guy on the field didn't see it as it happened.

I don't take anything OP says seriously but the expansion of the surveillance state is something to be concerned with.

There are a few layers you have to get through to get to data centers in this equation.

I agree with the problem the surveillance state poses, but you have republicans pushing for FISA renewal. The ship has sailed so far you can't even see it at this point. It is probably one of my biggest issues with his presidency. It needs to end but there are few people in congress actually fighting it.
He's been a vegetable for a couple years. He's literally a puppet in the senate. Why do we let this happen?

They weren’t very good on the ball

I think they panicked. They didn't expect us to keep attacking. They had 15ish minutes to actually do something before we scored the 2nd. After that it was just desperation.
