Nope. Only school I applied to was A&M. And I would have been an automatic admit at either.

when you take out the war years, when Aggies were a military school and going to war and the whorns were draft dodging, the record stands at 42-37-5.

Damn. Is this true? Puts the rivalry in a whole new light for me.

It's the reason we call them "tea-sips."
Funny. I went to A&M post-2000 and A&M was 3-2 vs. t.u. when I was there.

nobody gives a shite that Texas racked up a ton of wins when our grandparents listened on wooden radios.

And my grandparents wouldn't have even been allowed to play.

All you've seen is parity in the Lone Star Showdown, pendejo. Unless you're crazy old or relatively young. Series is .500 since I've been alive, and I'm in my late 30s. Flex all the pre-integration, pre-scholarship limit, leather helmet Ws when TAMU was a glorified Texan Citadel you want. Ain't gonna help y'all one iota on Black Friday.

Hope A&M beats the frick outta y'all tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, AggyArk!

BEAT THE HELL OUTTA t.u.!!!

Same. I want this one bad. Taking Quattro to his first Lone Star Showdown tomorrow. Scored some nosebleeds and I couldn't be more over the moon. Sips reneged on the series 6 years before he was born, and I couldn't take him last year. This is gonna be such a special experience for us both, win or lose. But I really want this W in particular. Already resigned to the fact I'll be an emotional wreck either way at the end

BTHO t.u.!

I view it as more of a road vs home thing more than anything. A&M flirted with an upset against Arkansas on the road, Texas beat them by 2 scores at home.

Eh, Arkansas never really had a shot to upset, honestly. Aggies played keepaway down the stretch--Hogs never had the ball in the 4th with a chance to take the lead. Final score is deceiving since Arky scored a TD with like 9 seconds left. Somewhat similar in final score appearance as the Vandy/tx game. Only game we've really flirted with an upset so far is South Carolina.

He's like a God there. Black MAGA. They set aside their racism to wash his feet.

Lol yeah the discourse was just too much "team sports" politics after awhile. My baseline is I despise all modern politicians (especially federal)--including the ones I voted for. They frick up, I lay into them, then their fan club lights into me  Gets old after awhile. Plus like I said I'm mostly active on just a limited number of platforms these days.

Suffice it to say we don't care for each other very much

Good observations. It’s all about how you finish.

Elko's had this mindset all year, and made it a mantra for the team. So far, they've answered that call. Time to prove it, though. Only big stages from here on out.

Where the hell have you been?

Twitter, mostly. Kind of streamlined my social media after life got busier with kids, but I'll still pop back in here once in a blue moon. Hope you've been well!

Haha I guess not! In fact, the month I made a TD account was the same month I proposed to my fiancée. I met Aggiebelle in the Corps at A&M. Been married 14 years now and have 2 kids. Our 5 year old daughter is in dance and loves it and already told me she wants to be on the Aggie Dance Team when she grows up lol.

I was there, too. Last time I ever visited dkr, in fact. Weather conditions were brutal.

It's easy to make these assumptions when one teams has faced significantly weaker competition.

We've played mostly the same teams. Whipped Florida the week after they beat y'all soundly. Choked out State while y'all flirted with being upset (yes, A&M nearly blew it vs. SC, too). Would have put up the same score on Arkansas as y'all had an iffy hold not been called on Reed's long TD run. Etc.

Texas can be gashed in the run game and that opens up shots downfield.

Texas has the 8th best rushing defense in the country statistically

A&M will be the most multiple at RB that the horns have faced, I believe. We're getting RB1 (Moss) back from injury, who started the season on a tear. The "Stable" of Owens, Daniels, Smith IV, and even Morrow have done yeoman's work in his stead, especially in the 2nd half (hence my OP).

quote:

much like how Kirby is a bad match up schematically for Sark, Venables and Elko are favorable matchups schematically. PK's defenses have owned Kleins offenses (even when he was at K State). Even if Texas beats A&M they need some help in order to make it.

This makes sense.
