I’m currently following two from afar and am fascinated by them.

One is a girl I went to college with. I hadn’t heard from her in years and all of the sudden she started posting really weird stuff on instagram. Best I can tell she went coo coo and is unemployed and posting some soft core only fans looking stuff.

Second is an ex coworker from our New York office that I worked directly with in a couple of instances. Tax attorney that graduated from NYU, so obviously a smart guy. He started posting all these demand letters to airlines and NYU law school and shite about how he was going to sue them for discriminating against him and some real dystopian AI stuff. It also appears he’s moved to Puerto Rico where he claims he was assaulted in a hospital and refused treatment for his political beliefs.

In one sense, it’s very sad, but I can’t keep my eyes off of their stuff.

That is horrible. I could share in your dismay over this sad situation if I had a link to this tragic occurrence.

Had a bi polar neighbor stop taking his meds. It would have been funny if it weren't scary, and sad that he has a personality disorder.

- Got fired for walking up behind a coworker and making a neck slashing motion behind her.
- Purchased a firebird that got quickly repossessed
- Used his truck to push the neighbors car forward by 5 feet
- Stood in his front yard racking a shotgun on a few occasions
- Started trimming trees for money and brought the tree limbs to store them in his front yard
- Had a dead carcass smell in his front yard we all assumed was a body. . . it was a deer, that he blamed his neighbor for planting there
- Cops were at his house routinely for nonsense.
- Tailgated neighbors from his house all the way to their work
- Stood in his front yard with a full body length mirror and smashed it into a million pieces
- Tried to convince me to give a raccoon that died in my backyard due to led poisoning to the kids down the street so they could make a hat

When I was a kid, I had a few distant cousins suffer what used to be called “nervous breakdowns.” If I’m remembering correctly, one eventually recovered enough to have a normal life. The other was in and out of mental institutions.

I know a guy that killed his nephew because the voices in his head, who he said was the devil, told him to do it.

Pretty sure I know who you are referring to if you are talking about a LSU/BTR circle of people.

Not naming names obviously, but she has been on an insane run of shite she has put on social media lately.

Won't name names or the school, but I know a high school band director that took the band to Washington DC via train. On the way home, he absolutely lost his shite, and the men in white coats were waiting for him at the station and took him straight to the hospital.

My best friend's wife completely lost it. Went from well put together to diagnosed bipolar to 5 different in patient rehabs to full interdiction and committed psychiatric 100% non-functional catatonic schizophrenia.

She was amazing and beautiful, fun to be around, a great cook, but when her 2 boys got to about 7 or 8 poof. When she was home towards the end of their marriage she'd drink 7 or 8 bottles of wine a day. The final straw was 2 days after a 6 month rehab stent she was in car line to pick up her boys and passed out drunk in car line. Still breaks my heart close to 20 years later.

My mother had a couple of violent psychotic episodes as an early symptom of her alzheimers. Got it under control with meds and no further issues but when it happened it was like something out of a movie. 5-2, 115 lbs and she had almost superhuman strength. Got her to the ER, they knocked her out with heavy sedatives and she woke up fine the next day with no memory of the previous 24 hours, wondering why her muscles were so sore.

I've been through some shite in my life, but my sweet, gentle mother giving me a black eye and clawing my face with her fingernails is right up there among the worst.

As I've posted about before, my late SO was bipolar. She was never manic while I knew her, but she had depression that no meds would touch. Many days it was a struggle to get out of bed or do basic activities of daily living. Brilliant, highly educated, but held back by this tragic illness.

About 30% of the young women in the US are on psychiatric meds so yes mental health is a problem.
