Won't name names or the school, but I know a high school band director that took the band to Washington DC via train. On the way home, he absolutely lost his shite, and the men in white coats were waiting for him at the station and took him straight to the hospital.

For good gumbo, po-boys and plates, a place in Decatur called "The Po-Boy Shop and Basement Bar" is good. Nothing spectacular, but good. One of the managers is from Kenner, and they have Leidenheimer bread sent in 3 times a week.

I was in Tiger Band in the early 80's and we went up to South Bend. While it was a "bucket list" thing, it also was a huge letdown. It was before they did the expansion, and we all thought it was just a glorified high school stadium, albeit with a ton of history. Wasn't loud at all.
