Yes, as a former hardcore proggy, the few former "acquaintances" that haven't ditched me yet due to things like not thinking a man can give birth (for example) are a daily adventure on social media. Literally lost their shite years ago, and when Trump was reelected, they completely fell off the cliff.
I'm honestly surprised one or two of them haven't killed someone yet. Watching them disown family members and former friends while calling these people "fascists in a cult" is entertaining too.

The sister of a girl i worked with. Knew them both. The sister was really beautiful and kind of an earthy hippie-chick. She was really funny too and fun to hang out with. Don’t know if she had a bad trip or something naturally psychotic occurred but one night she disappeared from her apartment and was found 8 hours later, 20 feet up in a tree ranting about demons and Armageddon. She ended up in an institution and she’s been there for the past 18 years. She rarely talks now from what I hear from her sister and when she does it’s kind of mindless rambling about religion and the devil. Pretty horrible for the whole family.

A friend of mine was a top cardiac surgeon coming out of Texas Tech Med school. Then he showed up at Baylor Scott and White for residency and went all the way through and was hired on after fellowship.
Absolutely brilliant dude and wonderful human.
Beautiful wife and daughter, lot of church involvement.
Then he hit 35 and all of the sudden had a break and became a conspiracy theorist and thought he was being tracked by the government and accused his wife of being a plant (they had been together since HS.) Threatened her and their daughter to try to get the government to come out of hiding.
Had a moment of clarity and decided to end his own life with pills and left a letter to his wife saying that they deserved better than to see him go through this and possibly harm either of them again when he didn't have the same clarity.
Suicide is awful and never permissible and it's terrible to put your family through that but he decided to make sure he never lost his mind again and hurt them because she refused to leave him during that.

exactly his case. no words on the internet could express how great of a dude he was... until he wasn't. sudden break around mid 30s that's inexplicable based on what you knew of him.

This happened to a good work friend around that age. I knew the guy for 10 years and he just cracked for whatever reason.
