Heartbreaking to hear. Prayers for your wife and family.

Terminal just means it’s something she will have to live with.
Rize,
My mom has stage 4 that spread to her bones, after the first round of treatment her scans showed no signs of cancer.
She has to take a chemo pill daily & something else that stops new cancer.
She quit taking that one about 2 years ago because it made her feel so crappy & latest scan showed it in her liver.
After all this her Dr. said it’s still not a big concern, she has to take the med that makes her feel bad again & he expects the next scan to show it’s gone.
I will keep your wife & family in my prayers

Almighty and Merciful Healer, we come to you today with fear and trembling. Guide the physicians, medical professionals, and those who will counsel our sister in Christ and her family as they navigate the journey they now undertake. We ask for miraculous healing but it is in your Holy will that is our peace, Lord. Comfort and strengthen this family. Give them the courage to face this fight with the fierceness of David’s army. Bring them peace with the decisions they must make. Finally Lord, help us to walk with them and help them to know they are not alone in this fight. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray!
Amen
Amen

Praying for you and your family Rize! You guys got this!
I just got diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer a couple weeks back and my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer then stage 3 breast cancer over the summer.
My biggest piece of advice is to accept all the help you get offered. My wife is having a little bit of a hard time with that right now, but if someone wants to cook you a meal, help you with chores, run errands for, etc. take it. Now isn’t the time for pride. It’s for accepting the love of friends and family.

Nothing worse than being told you have cancer.
Before the doctor even finishes pronouncing the word, your world is changed forever. The folks at MDA have or will be sending you tons of information on where to stay at discounted rates, link to their portal, their phone app, etc. (FYI...the Rotary House there at MDA is fantastic and makes it so much easier, especially chemo patients that may bet sick from the treatment)
Yes she is in the hands of the best in the world.
Your part now is to stay strong, support her in everyway possible and prepare yourself for the physical and emotional roller coaster ride she will be going through.
Love her, support her, stay strong and lean on God for strength, wisdom and peace.
I'll be there some in November and if I see anyone with LSU gear on, as always I'll give a hearty GEAUX TIGERS.

Metastatic survival rates have improved tremendously over the past 10 years.
Targeted chemotherapy and genetic blood testing (finding the specific genetic markers in the cancer cell itself) have been gamechsngers.

First thing, you both need to stay positive. Remember, millions of people beat cancer every single year. And they beat the most aggressive ones too. I've been reading about former Senator Ben Sasse. He's been told repeatedly to prepare for the worst and he refuses. He just keeps living. Check him out. It's a great story.
Otherwise, prepare for the battle. Eat right. Sleep well. Move around. But stay positive. People beat this, man. She can do it too.

Be of great hope, because she can be well again. I ask Our Father to heal her and remove the evil that has invaded her body. May God bless her, you and your entire family with peace and love. Persevere

While true, their general goal is 5 years. So when you see stats on survival, it's from the scope on "did they make it 5 years?"
Metavivor
There were a couple trailblazers in our area on this group. One of them made it 13-14 years, the other about 8-9.
Don't ignore stage 4.
God bless. I hate cancer.

I’m there with you. I’ll be at MDA next week. Except my wife is stage 4. First tier chemo failed miserably.
