I mean, if you see yourself having zero chances of ever getting married and raising a family, you have no attainable career goals, and you can mooch off entitlements more than you could make trying to work any job you’re qualified for, why not just say f$&k it, check out, and live in a fantasy world? Reality is trash in 2023.

Are you playing tetris?

I play fortnite. I will play one or two battle battle royales. I am not into any of those games that take forever to play.

A friend of mine used to play some game in which he would play wit 4 or 5 other people. When everyone in his house went to bed, he would play.. He would play from like 10PM to 2 or 3AM, go sleep for a few hours then wake up and go to work, but it finally caught up with him and he had to stop playing, there is no way I could do something like that.

Unless you suck, this is taking longer than 30 minutes.

People downvoting, but it’s true. The amount of hours one can put in to a tier one game is absurd. One can spend a lot on video games, but it’s unnecessary unless one wants to play the latest and greatest co-op multiplayer game on PC. Otherwise, you can get huge ROI just playing games a couple years after they came out.

Couldn’t agree more especially when you factor in that gamers don’t have to spend any money on drinks and dinner trying to get pussy. They just flog the dolphin to some weird arse anime shite and call it a night.

At this point can even say you’re living?

Instead it looks like you’re just passing the time being distracted from the complete emptiness and meaningless of your useless existence before you finally die.

Useless existence... you mean like building endless technology for no reason? Soon to be used against you by your government/billionaires...

Let's say they actually walked on the moon, what was useful about it?

At this point we mass produce crap, depleting the earth's resources just to eat turkey half way across the country for meaningles holidays and watch humanbeings give each other cte at a rate of 92%.

If the U.S. wanted a functioning future, old geezers refusing to leave office after 40 years in office would stop stealing money and giving it away to other countries/every illegal alien at the border, and actually leave something for the future generations to retire on, the future generation might be willing to work.

How is reading fiction or watching sports any better use of time than playing video game/watching TV.

Adam and Eve woulda been just fine with their garden, swimming and playing hide the salami. Add in fermented fruit and all the drugs that grow, sounds like a more enjoyable life than having government/billionaires control you for 10hrs a day by the time you drive to from work. And you're supposed to sleep 8 hours. And you have to eat. Chores. Throw in a family, and now you have 0 time left other than paying property taxes just to exist on earth, on top of all the other things the system forces people into. You want to fish for a food source, better pay for that government license.

They are trying to raise the age of retirement to 70 years old. The average U.S. male dies at 77. Not only is social security going to run out before people under 40 retire, tons of men aren't even going to be alive to get the money back that was stolen from them. The average man would get 7 years of retirement... so if they're like those 85 year old school janitors as Menards employees even retire, they'll be living on what's equivalent to 1,300 dollars a month in 2023. Oh boy!!

If you have the option of 1,300 a month at the age of 70 or 900 welfare a month, Healthcare, food assistance your whole life until it runs, most old people that are relying on social security would go back and take that deal instead if they're not even going to get to retire for their final 7 years on earth.

Choosing video games over being another brick in the wall for the war machine isn't exclusive to U.S. Japan and South Korea are this way also.

After witnessing what leftist government/their rino friends, big tech, big pharma, deep state fbi/cia are willing to do to their own country, and they get away with it because they control everything, people are better off not contributing. Everything being built leads to nowhere, other than the government using it against you. Death is the only way out and that's a prize everybody will receive.

Video games are fine, but its like anything else where a lot of people who have problems say they do it to unwind and really it's their entire life.

Same with shitty men in the south and northeast who base their entire lives on watching football/basketball/baseball/hockey year round.

Same with workaholics, alcoholics.

Do whatever you want. Nobody is chastising anyone for playing video games every now and then, but I see so many people who it's their entire personality and get offended when called out.

This is funny. I was listening to Theo Vonn's latest podcast earlier today. He lives in Nashville and got series for a minute to talk about the school shooting.

He made a good point. He asked what is causing the people to go to the point where they go shoot up a school and then mentioned the last of self worth. To do something like that, a person has to feel like they do not contribute to anything. They might lack relationships in general and to some degree has to feel like nothing in this word really matters.

Someone who had decided to play video games all day instead of something productive.. And the only people they communicate with are people they only know through playing these games.. I have to think there will be a point when one day they wake up and look back and think "what have I actually contributed? With what I have been doing, what direction is my future going in?", even if they are mooching off of someone, that has to eventually put them in a very lonely place where they have little value of themselves.

Not addressing the other parts of your manifesto but I will address this.

Are either of those two things causing people to drop out of the workforce/traditional societal norms in significant numbers?

That was the point of this thread and article.

I’m not saying video games are inherently bad and this whole deal may be much more of a symptom rather than the disease but the current generation in their 20s have a widespread failure to launch going on.

To your point about watching sports it’s much more of an in person communal thing with widespread ages etc. compared to playing video games.

I haven’t played a video game since Tetris came out. They also had a hockey game I think where you hit the puck with the white thing. Pong.
