I wonder if young white professional males are feeling "targeted" by today's woke corporations, and that might partially explain this phenomena? Regardless, I agree with some of the feminization arguments some of you are also making. Raise real men, dads!

I’m not saying video games are inherently bad and this whole deal may be much more of a symptom rather than the disease but the current generation in their 20s have a widespread failure to launch going on.

It has more to do with these dudes arent getting women and families, so they stick with shite they did as teens.

Also not needing to provide for someone else, why bust it?

Gone are the days where you meet someone in your hometown and thats ll you know so thats who you marry.

Also these guys grew up with women not making up their mind on if the guy should make the first move or if thats rape.

I’ve never played many video games, but my observation is that my friends that do play a lot or did in the past were seriously held back by the habit academically, professionally, socially, etc. It’s a time drain and is not viewed favorably in the dating scene.

chicken or egg? do they play a lot because they just cant get dates or can they not get dates because they play a lot?

Ill give another example, I was on a sports travel team until I was 17 and barely had time to do shite outside of that but my homework.

I played a lot of ncaa and halo in college and had more girlfriends then when i played sports in middle school and hs.

In what way does beating video games provide less self-worth and accomplishment than being a faceless, cubicle-dwelling corporate paper pusher or a dead-end service industry drone?

I think the social aspect is a big one because gaming today is MUCH more social an activity than it was 20 years ago. Heck, I would argue it’s much more social than most young people’s post-school lives in general.

Few existences are more isolating and de-humanizing than the corporate cubicle dweller.

The frick are you doing any differently, tank boy?

We’re all passing our time, one way or another.

I can’t even hate really. This country was doomed before millennials ever got a chance to fix it. It’s obviously far beyond any one person’s or even a lot of people’s ability to fix. I wouldn’t find sitting on my arse playing video games all day fulfilling at all, and I’d rather live in a world where no one did, but if somebody does, whatever at this point. It doesn’t affect me.

Times have changed. I don’t think many unemployed dudes gaming all day long are pulling any arse, but few unemployed boomer men who watched tv and movies all day long were pulling arse either. The question is if you’re a man who has ambition and drive. If you do, girls will want you no matter what you do in your free time. If you don’t, they won’t.

Women love an ambitious man with a stable income they can leach off of while they bang an unemployed Jody during his 12hr + soul-crushing corporate grindfest that he works at because he’s stuck in an endless loop of debt slavery.

I haven't played in months. I would love nothing more to load up on snacks and mountain dew and sit in front of the TV playing for 36 hours straight like I could when I was 20 years younger, but I just don't have the time anymore.

I’m a childless adult with a long list of hobbies and an active social life. I probably sit down and play video games about once or twice every two weeks, but when I do, I usually do so for 2-4 hours at a time.

In my opinion, most of our societal problems are symptoms of some serious macroeconomic problems that are exacerbated by government policies and a globalist corporate culture consumed with short-term profits.

Fair question

College is a lot different. Girls have different standards of 18-22 year olds than 26 year olds, for example. Also, you have a lot of free time in college and can easily play video games a couple hours a day while still being socially active.
